It is a great achievement for an old seat-of-the-pants parts break-in bencher like me and I’m quite pleased with it.

I think it is, I did look at the lid earlier but I’m not sure now. It’s still under the pot or I’d recheck it.

I didn’t really hit on the NB at all. I went straight for the Validation and stayed with it until it finally gave in.

Why was there never any doubt in my mind that you'd get a 7Ghz run OT...

    Congratz man!
I'm really gonna have to buy a pot, you've shown me that us old farts still have game....

Now bring the IMC up, tighten those Mem timings and show us a killer SPi 32m run.
I'm sure it won't impress the Intel folks, but us AMD guys know how imortant SPi really is...

Thanks FlanK3r. Good luck with your OC party and I hope you do get to 6.9GHz or more.

No I don’t have any backups (if that’s what you’re asking).

I was only going for 7GHz or more but nothing less and I got it done after several hours of trying with the very last bit of LN2 that I had on hand.

I’ve tested three of these 955be C3’s, one was a good 3D chip but wouldn’t do extremely high clocks another one Validated @6974MHz +/- (that one has an ok IMC) but this third one finally did the 7GHz trick.

As far as a barrier or problem reaching 7GHz, the chip knew it could do 7GHz so the problem or barrier was all me until I found what the chip wanted.

Thanks Dave. Old guys get lucky sometimes at least in OC’ing.

I tested the IMC under a SS earlier and it didn’t like being clocked up much so I didn’t even try it under LN2.

Thanks Lightman. I was using a F1 pot.
On all three 955's quite a bit but on the last one that did 7GHz maybe 10/12 Liters.
