I have to do that on my ChIV - think is the same for you?
Thank you! I haven't got enough time to deeply explore this new uEFI BIOS... Hoping that these options will be present in my BIOS...
Mainboard manual indicates that CPU_FAN and CPU_OPT pins are "strictly" 4-pin fan oriented (in fact, the fourth pin is assigned for FAN PWM).
Instead, Other headers (CHA_FAN1-3) have pin 4 marked as a +5V output.
I think the only way to manage 3-pin fans is to connect them only to CHA headers.

BIOS 0506 has been released, so you can flash over to that if you wish.

The date on bios 506 is older than the date on 028 by one day and 506 removed all of the other optional NB/CPU multipliers. Which one is better for overclocking/benchmarking?

    hi guys
    I've got a question.

On the crosshair IV I used k10stat for settings the pstate and I could run my thuban in idle at 800 and 1.2v.
Now i noticed that k10stat doesnt work, maybe because the new 990fx is not supported yet.

I tryied also enabling the cool n quiet but I'm not satisfied becuase it runs cpu in idle at 800 but 1,392 (I've set in bios 1,425, cpu @ 4ghz).
Same thing with the epu engine if I set high reduction it is set to 1.404, if I set to extreme voltage reduction it is set to 1.392.
There is another option to reduce the voltages?
I also tried phenommrstweaker but it doesnt work too..

    Thank you very much
I dont like to take the cpu in idle at high voltages when I am only browsing web and so it is un necessary.

Stay with 0506. The benchmarking BIOSes are not really for 24/7 overclocking.

    hi

    i have a asus crosshair V formula motherboard with a 1090t.

i just want to know what does "do not remove the thermal module, the thermal conditions should be monitord." mean? also how do i monitor it or is it automatic? i only have 2 temp readings, cpu and MB

one other question, when i load the bios to defaults it sets the "CPU PWM & CPU PWM phase" to extreme, should i keep it on that or put it on standard & t.probe?

I am considering purchasing M5A97 EVO, but the thing is - does it support core unlocking? I would like to use my X2 550 @ X4 B50 for some time before I order a Bulldozer.

Any estimate on when there might be BIOS updates for the other boards such as the M5A99X? We need the core unlock stability fix for that board as well.

Were you able to actually get temperature readings before? As far as I can remember, unlocking cores has always caused the temperature sensors to bug out.

ιi think that you cant flash a bios from NTFS formatted drive.

so try again from a fat32 (iirc) usb stick and you ll be OK

i had the same issue on cvf/mive/gd65/p8p67pro :p

Anyone else having higher than usual temperatures on the M5A97 EVO? I'm used to ~34-36C idle from my old M4A79T, but am getting significantly higher on this new board. I've reseated and reapplied my MX-2 with the same results. Over at TPU reviewing the board, they had the same thing.
