Maximus IV Extreme + 2600K.... Over 5.9 GHz

    Hello Guys,

Today i tried my new 2600k with my new Maximus IV Extreme.

I never tried this Motherboard and CPU before, so i was focused only on CPU, without tweak OS or try to push the memory.... so results are good, but i think could be better ;-)

    Here the setup:

Intel 2600K + Kingpin Gemini Pot
    Asus Maximus IV Extreme Retail
    AData 2200 MHz C8
    MSI GTX 580 Lightning
    Antec HCP 1200W.

    And here we go

    SuperPi 1M

    SuperPi 32M

    PiFast

    WPrime 32M

    WPrime 1024M

I really hate these chips... Wprime 1024M at the same frequency as 1M? Intel totally nerfed them.

    why so?

because they even though they are "unlocked" they seem to wall at a certain frequency and not scale with volts?

A few ways. First, many won't boot at 100x55 but will boot at 103x54 (multipliers are just broken) and second, thye cut them off at 59. If the CPU is doing Wprime and 1M at the same frequency, something is wrong. They require entirely different levels of stability.

I'm sidetracking though, I don't want to take away from canna's results. They truely are awesome!

Temp was -60°C, Unfortunately i had no enough LN2 for test better the CPU, but next time i will try it also with a lower temperature, because maybe something could be change.

    I am thinking this because @ -40°C the better clock reached was 5680 MHz, @ -50 i benched Wprime @ 5760 MHz, and @ -60 i saw the 5920 MHz

yes tested the BCLK with 58X, and 102 MHz are possible... i need only a bit of time for set all the sub of the memory, and then i will try with 58X

    Batch L105B
