Corsair Announces New Carbide Series of PC Cases

The Carbide Series 400R and 500R have been designed for PC gamers with the same builder-friendly philosophy as the award-winning Obsidian Series™ and Graphite Series™ of PC cases, but at aggressive price points. New system builds and upgrades are fast and simple, thanks to the easy side panel access and tool-free drive installation and removal. Corsair's innovative cable-management system allows for clean-looking builds and improved airflow.

That is not a bad case at all, I just wish more cases would have upto 14 3.5" drive bays like the Fractal XL, to match the number of SATA ports on the Sandy Bridge-E.

I always found my PSUs ran cooler by mounting them somewhere that gave them direct access to the cool outside air, like the bottom (as long as there's intake room, which it seems there is).

i thought PSUs were built for an optimal temp, not the lowest temp possible?

either way, bottom or top of the case to me is about the same. id like to see some innovation in cases now a days. how many people use the whole front for cdroms or hard drives, and how much space does that all waste. cases should be much more modular than they currently are.

Clean cabling and air flow mostly. I also dislike losing screws into it and having to disassemble to retrieve them in cases where the fan faces upwards. On cases where the fan faces downwards, they need a filter and those filters get clogged quickly if you have carpet and/or pets.

when corsair uses less plastic i will be excited for their cases. they are setting bad example.. silverstone is doing the same thing.. tons of plastic bits.. makes it feel like 50$ antec case.

Their 600T in WHITE is absolutely sick looking. I hate white cases typically and that one stands out as classy and high end.

I'm not excited about these at all. They look like cheap knock offs.

No chance of it being sub 100$ I like the cases for their solid no nonsense look with the right lighting and fans it will look pretty sweet imo (the 500). However now that ive gone over the pics again the 500 reminds if cooler master cases somehow :P

Edit:- article says sub 150$ case (400).

Agreed. I usually hate white cases but the 600T is a fantastic design. When I first saw this thread, I was expecting to see a case that would make me regret buying my 600T last week. It seems I made the correct decision after all.

Now that is a very appealing case for $100.00. I would not hesitate for a moment in purchasing one of them for a clients build. Nice workmanship Corsair!

Yeah, I was pretty pissed when I got my FT-02 and found out that the top was made out of plastic. I was even more upset when the second time that I poped it off a piece of plastic came flying off too. I also broke the psu filter the first time that I ever popped it off.

yeah. when i purchased my new case last week it came down to tj07 or lian li. and too many people have tj07. so i stuck to the PC-A77F. i despise plastic bits all over the place.. and there is none in that case aside from the mounting clips for the face of the case.

Thats what I had expected from an almost $250 aluminum case. I'm surprised that not one review that I saw mentioned all of the plastic in the case. It's definitely the first thing that I noticed when I got the case. That said it still looks good and the airflow is amazing.
