I'd buy new pads. I think they just screw off (... I think)....

As for the cord.... Well, where'd you kill it? It may be possible to simply have someone handy just resolder it, possibly by shortening it. It won't be as pretty though, but it'll work....

the cone that covers the connection of the cord to the headphone on the left side tore and not there is a separation so if i move my head wrong the right speaker goes out. the pads are supposed to be easy and they are $27 for leather and $35 for velour from BD with whatever their shipping is. the driver and case is fine so i dont think that its worth replacing $225 worth of headphones.

    Why not just call BD?
I know Sennheiser has a repair center, BD might also...possibly send pics and get a free quote?

could remove the wires completely and solder new wires direct to the drivers.

Moon-Audio does this, but it can be pretty expensive. But yeah, give Beyer a call. I know AKG as well does service on higher-end headphones.

Yes and Moon Audio are borderline con artists

For that we should thank BOTH (AMD and Intel) companies!

If you can solder well, you can replaces some wires inside of your cans. It is one of the most basic jobs around.
