OK, I'm coming out of my funk. Until today, I've had absolutely *zero* motivation to work on my build. I regret the inactivity in the meantime.
My Dremel puked, probably from ingesting metal particles while butchering those Swiftech heatsinks (recall that I need to attach them to the two MCP-35X pumps mounted to the EK DDC Dual Top v2).
I still have more heatsink material to remove, which requires a few cutting and cool-down cycles. Maybe by tomorrow, I will be able to declare victory over what should have been a trivial piece of the entire build.
What motivated me to snap out of my funk? I was playing BF2142 online (yeah, I know, save it; Black Ops barely hits 4 FPS on this system!), when my video driver crashed for the second time in as many days. GPU core @ 83 C. Unacceptable. Oh, well: that's on a build from long ago. Will have to revisit that another day.
So, onward, comrade! We shall overcome.
mBrane: dremel puked - is in not working anymore? I had case when (probably due same metallic particles) my dremel's rpm regulator stopped working and it was always full rpm. Disassembling and blowing it clean with compressed air can helped.
Hi, Churchy. It was a Dremel 8200 (12v battery-operated). It just died.
So, I bought the 4000 (120v), which should not have such sensitive electronics inside. We will see...

Running stable in 2018 with a 4 GHz overclock.
