I would go for the LG.
But before I actually went and bought it, I would try as hard as I could to find the max refresh rate it supported (or unsupported) at 1080p.
Howevers...
The lg is discontinued, you should beable to find something even better then that now.
I would not go for a monitor without dvi.
It's the same as hdmi, but those hdmi inputs have diff settings applied to them and they are usually locked down.
If you have a monitor without hdmi, that's ok because you can get converters for hdmi -> dvi.
Hdmi is good to have, but I would prefer it to have dvi at the very least as a must before I worried about the hdmi.
Edit:
Err I forgot to check the type of finish on the samsung..., ohwell.
One more edit:
I would like to make a note that these are 6bit displays, like mine in my sig.
The blacks are not as good as a tube monitor.
You have to get into service mode to make it look as good.
That's pretty much out of the ? though.
I probably shouldn't worry you about it.
It'll still look pretty good anyways without the low level tweaking.
The difference between TN and IPS.
TN = 6bit usually.
IPS = 8bit or 10bit usually.
I think I got them right, I might have them backwards lol.
