    My 1st Virgin Intel Seven with X58A-OC & Retail 990X @ 7030MHz

Thanks to Gigabyte for making my Intel dream came true

First touch with the board, I found the design was very attractive & impressed with the high quality of its’ components.
I absolutely enjoyed the Multiplier/ Bclk buttons which makes overclocking much fun & easier than ever. Playing with those buttons gives me a feeling like driving a sports car & trying to accelerate by shifting up the gear & stepping on the gas pedal
Stability is also found in all aspects in terms of 2D/3D benching on this 1.0 version
This X58-OC version is surely designed & born for overclocking SPEED…

Frankly, I like this board more than Hicookie ! ooooops….

    Rig:-
    Gigabyte X58A-OC
    Intel Gulftown 990X
    NV 470
    Corsair 1600 C6 2gx2
    Silverstone 1500w
    GC2 Compound
    Eric's Gulftown Killer

Without having to do any hard mod and stuff, just put grease on the board, get set & go!
    Here we are…6.94G 6C12T
Crazy old Mad didn’t realize HT was enabled til CPUz validation

With HT disabled @ the right volt. & Temp., 7G was a pc of cake
How far this chip can go ?! Hmm….

wPrime 32m/1024m seems the best 2D benchmarks that 990x can do atm
But PI/Pifast is absolutely benchable from 6.5g to 6.6g for this chip.
PI bug wasn’t so serious than I thought when I get to know the board better
PI1m @ 6.5g single channel with auto uncore was around 6.4s, so did not bother to do any screen shot

Once I’ve found the mounting for the LN2 pot (dunno where they are in my OC room), will do further testings & some heavy duty 3D !
A qualified amateur has been poisoned by LN2 & soon be killed

Pot wasn't even 'mounted' LOL. Nice runs there! Were the Pi results slower because you were in single channel, or was it a board/cpu issue?

For 01/03/05/06 those 3D, need "Dino the bruce" to do it, but he really needs some luck though

very very few of them, and out of that bunch most of them are ES, so it is nice to see a retail clocking as nice or better than the early A0 cpu's.

How many 980x chips were tested for CPU-Z max with this OC board? Also how many chips did he test?
Seems like the OC board is the best for getting high CPU-Z valids.

No mount, risking frying the CPU.
