3x245w Tec Chiller w pwm controller 24/7

I guess I'll post a few pictures of a build I've just completed. The chiller itself is designed to run off a 24-27v power supply @ ~15 amps. That puts the chiller at ~400watts max power consumption. According to the charts the qmax @ 15 amps should be ~200watts each on these tecs for a total of 600 watts qmax.

The chiller is designed to go sub ambient but not sub 0ºc for 24/7 use on an uninsulated board. It is also designed to fit into a triple 5 1/4" bay and requires a 5volt supply from the computer for the controller.

Using the controller, the chiller should be pretty efficient at normal 24/7 computer use because the tecs will be off or at 50% duty cycle most of the time.

Anyway pics, I'll post some results after I finish testing this thing.

I just built it for fun so its really not spoken for "so to speak". I already have a tec chiller in my 24/7 rig.

Good question. I confirmed about 20ºc dt water to water on a I7 920@ 4.2ghz HT On @ 1.34v in an earlier test on the chiller itself running the tecs @ ~8volts (Note: They are only running at about 50% of the rated vmax for efficiency)

What size rad will you need to cool the hot side of the TEC's?

I think you are probably more qualified to answer that question. I can tell you that the tecs pull about 400-450w at the wall (I think about 50-75w of that is just the power supply) plus your cpu load, so maybe total load to cool would be ~ 650watts

What do you think it would take to cool that heat load?

i would so buy a small chiller package like that. just bolt it into main rig and go. flick it on on really really hot days in my appartment.

Needs a metallic faceplate, though.

That is frigging awesome. Can you make it run off a PSU? I would say a dual rad would be enough and a triple if you wanted to go really slow fans.
