WC Noob Watercooled Lian Li PC-P50WB 2600k Project Sandy's Bridge

Brand new to watercooling....I've purchased rads, case, and pump...currently checking fit and determining placement before ordering fittings and everything else. The top rad was my primary concern, but it fits like a glove!

I have some basic, generic questions I'm researching about rad placement, adequacy of a single pump...etc

Suggestions welcome...more to follow (with actual pics)!

    i72600k with either a single 6990 or 2x 6970s

Top rad fits between the plastic top cover and the metal case top under it ?

    Top Rad

Yes...but the cover isn't plastic, it's anodized aluminum. It is the only radiator I can find that fits...pretty slim (Magicool). Two fans push through from the inside...I had to use 140x20mm fans in order to clear the motherboard, so they are slim as well. No modding at all...in fact the holes for the rad fittings are fre-fabbed into the lian li case...and the bolt pattern was spot-on.

    Top Rad Fit

    Hope it helps!

Clearance is really tight...not even enough room to insulate/grommet the mount holes!

    Excellent!!!

I have similar setup with one slim Black Ice GTS360, but i had to cut the metal top of my CM-690 to fit....

Keep in mind, the top cover simply pops right off...but the plate underneath unbolts with four screws...makes it really easy to mount rad/fans...and come mobo installation time I'm sure that will come in handy again.

    Good Luck with the build.
just remember to leak test it over night with no hardware on the loop.
Thus if u get a leak u won't have to clean water off your hardware or even worse wreck some thing.
Also if any of the parts are acrylic don't over tighten then coz it can crack very easy.
Good luck Hope some of this helped.

the laing will work but if your really cooling vregs, NB, CPU, 2GPUs, and 2 3.120Rads you might wanna consider another.

Thanks, but I'm currently using 2 2x140mm radiators...one is really thin and both are high-flow. I am considering the Gigabyte UD7 which has recently been revised from P67 to Z68, so I'm not even sure if the EK blocks I had planned will work.

I supposed I could simply set it up for CPU/GPU only for now...primarily control noise...then wait and see what happens.

    Again, thanks for the input.

BTW, the 655 flow / volume seems pretty comparable to the 355 to me, but the head pressure of this 355 is amazing. 20ft is a long way up
