Hi, I'm looking to replace my ageing ide DVD burner and have been looking at an sata blueray drive.
Has anyone got any recommendation as to a good one? Are they all largely the same?

LOL wow not a single reply. I guess no one uses BL drives on here. Maybe they are just to high end???

I had a Plextor BR-burner witch are convinient for burning HD material but it's a waste of time if you collect smaler files where a DVD-R easy is 10x times faster.
In my current workstation I use a Samsung BD-R/DVD-RW combo to access a collection of 20 BR plus 8 BR-Videos.
perhaps the newer BlueRay drives are faster and they all are of great use when you back up very large files but I can't recomend a certain brand.
They are largely the same and Samsung or LG seems to be popular but I admit I'm a Plextor fan boy
