Rumors of MSI GTX580 Lightning Xtreme Edition and ASUS ARES GTX595

Worried about playing Metro 2033 and Shogun 2 under high resolutions? We could be expecting the following 2 monsters in the near future:

    MSI 580 Lightning Xtreme Edition
Leaked facts: 3GB video memory; Site owner of chiphell expects to deliver a review by the end of May.
    Source

    ASUS ARES GTX595
Leaked facts: people inside ASUS Taiwan just leaked rumors that ASUS will feature a 3 x 8 pin card, with 512 CUDA cores x 2, 512 bit / 4096 MB GDDR5 x 2, clock 875 / 1750 / 4800, TDP 285W (weird number, as listed in the OP), PSU req = 750W, price at 1099€. Performance still under NDA. (The OP on chiphell used to leak 560 2GB version before, which proved to be true afterwards. Not sure how trusty this ARES 595 can be.)

    lets see 3x 150 = 450
    450 + (75 to 100 from the slot) = 525-550

anyone see something wrong with the TDP on this card?

512bits / 4096mb x2 ( so 8go of GDDR5 .... ) ? and yes the TDP is just funny. look like some numbers are wrong ... Asus 590 Ares yes, but i don't see them call it 595, i know Nvidia want clean a bit the 590 launch, but give it a new numbers is not really probable, Untill the card appear outside Asus name. I let you imagine if Evga release his 568TI or the new GTX 469 .... or a 575...

Maybe it'll come with a dual-BIOS switch like that on the HD6990? when you run it at ultra low clock frequency like 607MHz it stays within the industry standard but when you switch to OC mode it uses over 500W as you calculated?

But the 590 TDP is 365W or so. It's a typo.

    Should have been 825W.

Seriously though, 525W is doable with well binned chips.

    512 CUDA cores x 2, 512 bit / 4096 MB GDDR5 x 2,
So ASUS would be using cores that don't exist on the market (512 cores with a 256-bit bus)? And then clog up each controller with 1GB of memory? Methinks not.

    With what is on this list... 2x 256bit who will get each 4gb of GDDR5 ( 256bit +4go x2 ) ... why not 16 ?

In that case, why not 32?

I think it is quite obvious someone made up those specs off the top of their head.

The ASUS GTX 595 sounds like bull to me, how did they manage to do a 512 bit memory bus on Fermi or whatever, unless if they made their own chip or whatever. 6GB on 2x 384 bit sounds most likely though,

Someone that was really frustrated with his GTX590 ...
"Ohhh perfect was a card with this this this this ... if there's a company that could do it it would be Asus and they would name it Ares or a GTX595 ... This would be the card of my dreams... not this 580SLI wanna be ..."

And there you have... spread the first part as rumor and you'll be talking about GTX595 Ares ...
It's all about how the message is transmitted ... you know that if you take a universe of 100 people ... you tell something to the first one ... the person nr.500 will get a totally different message from the original :P It's all about Psychology of the Message ehehhe
Oh...your ass is grass and I've got the weed-whacker.

ASUS to Announce GTX 595 ARES Mars on Computex 2011

    Read more: http://wccftech.com/2011/05/18/asus-...#ixzz1MnpxzZgy

ASUS might be upto something big , According to German Media reports the manufacturer will be releasing another ASUS ARES Mars GPU on Computex 2011. The card would feature Dual GF-110 Cores (GTX 5** Series) but would be called “GTX 595 ARES Mars”.

You may wonder what’s the 595 for? Well, Reports reveal that unlike the GTX 590 it would feature a much faster clock rate of 875MHz, 1700MHz, 4800MHz for Core/Shader/Memory respectively which are insane clocks against the GTX 590′s 607Mhz and 772 Mhz of the GTX 580. Considering the above clocks, The card would be real hot and ASUS may have to re consider putting those insane clocks for the final release as GTX 590 being one hot card already fails during overclocking.

The card would feature the ASUS Ares Mars heatsink like the one posted below, ASUS may consider to replace the copper blocks with improved vapor chambers for better thermal environment for the card. Its also likely that dual 3GB versions of the GTX 580 which were recently released may be used in the card. These are a few details we know yet, Maybe a press release is held during the Computex 2011 event next month.

I'm done with dual cards since the 295 I had. If I want SLI I'd rather do two separate cards. With enough cash 3

Most likely 6Gb GDDR5 (3Gb/GPU) and Dual-GF110 (GTX580) chips and pwm that could power whole house, clocks up to something like 900/1800/5000Mhz stock and overclock potential to something like 1100/2200/6000Mhz with stock cooler.

If that card sees daylight, there wont be anything to beat it till AMD releases next gen graphics cards.

let see allready for the 857mhz ( if true ) , the 590 push around 350W @607mhz: add 2x 270mhz for the cores (+voltage increase ), 2x200mhz on the memory ( GDDR5 are extremely demanding ), 3gb of GDDR5 .... if the card is under 450W it will allready be a miracle ... I try imagine what will be the work of the cooler allready at this speed, let's appart the 1000+mhz ...

Anyway, i like how they will name it GTX595 .... lol, i think this is the worst marketing i have never seen: Asus Mars are general really limited in quantity, it's an Asus, not an Nvidia design ....
Funny enough to see Asus succeed, where Nvidia don't.
