Here is our full review of the chipset and its features.

No motherboard is tested per se but the performance results from all the features are there.

In it, SRT and Virtu are both extensively tested.

I just got up my physical review of the Z68X-UD7 with Touch BIOS pics in which I explain the Touch BIOS in full and other aspects of the board. Touch BIOS is pretty unique in many aspects. I will have a performance review with SRT and Virtu in the coming weeks tho:

i looked at most of the reviews, and a little disappointed some of them didnt test the lucid virtu software, as that's one of the big factors for me to buy a Z68 board. and disappointed again that of the reviews that did test the lucid virtu, they didn't bother testing the power consumption difference. sure, test the difference in FPS, but what's the point of taking a hit in FPS if you don't know the difference in power consumption? isn't one of the main purpose of virtu is to have switchable graphics to save power at just a small hit in performance? and yet power consumption wasn't even tested....

15% higher price bracket compared to P67. idk it's either just a launch hype or someone is pulling our leg. It simply aint offering that much over P67.

Really? People think theres going to be something amazingly different with Z68 vs. P67? A thread deadicated to Z68 reviews seems unneccessary.

That's nice. The prices are not as bad as I thought it would be.

All systems sold. Will be back after Sandy Bridge!

The SSD caching is the only feature I'm liking as it seems like a decent way to improve game load times without resorting to throwing games on actual SSDs.

The lack of dual link dvi is a bummer as that would make this alot more appealing to 120hz / 3d users. I currently use nvidia inspectors multi monitor power saver utility to force the idle powerstate on the desktop otherwise I'm stuck with 3d clock speeds overclocked with much higher voltage, aka 75+watts more at idle ( the only other option is to run the desktop at 110hz but then you lose the benifits of 120hz ) This switchable solution with virtu would have solved that if it weren't for the lack of high refresh rate support. Heres to hoping flexible switchable graphics will be the norm next year on the desktop. Eyefinity, surround and 3d are all nice but they are total power hogs (stupid GDDR5 clock switching...) so this kind of thing would defineately be welcome.

    Nice writeup.
The ud3H is the sweet spot for me but I see no evidence it exists for sale yet.
The Asus pro looks worthy but the lack of display port is annoying.

    Still waiting...
    Currently messing with:
    Intel DP55SB Sharpsberg
    i7-860 (stock) under a Zalman CNPS-8700NT cooler
    4x4GB Corsair Vengence @ 1600
XFX Radeon 5850 Black Edition (765, 1125 stock)
Mushkin Chronos DX 240GB and 1.5 TB WD Black
Powered by a Seasonic X-650 and stuffed into a Silverstone GD05 case

Thanks for the pointers. We'll likely revisit the whole power consumption and performance aspect once NVIDIA releases their solution.

Think of it as this generation's P45 or X48 and you'll be fine.
