Using a plate hx in the water loop as condensor would be neat?

It would be neat be then I would have to insulate all the cool hard water piping. Even 5 degrees below ambient room temp will cause condensation on the water lines and it is really bad with the hard piping. Rubber/PVC hose has some insulating value where hard pipe has none. Chilled water is just too hard to control condensation on, especially a machine that runs +6 hrs a day. If I went sub ambient on all the water, I would have to just get a couple dozen cans of foam insulation and fill up the whole case.

Well, below dewpoint at least. As long as you're 1C over the dewpoint, there won't be any condensation. But to use that, you need to know precisely what the dewpoint inside your computer is.

Sick build. I really like the idea of hard lines for the loop.

The noise of the rotary compressor doesn't bother you in your office? Or I guess after all these years you probably don't even notice it...I know how that goes lol.

Well, I was thinking more of the other way round, dumping the heat from the single stage into the water loop. I guess it`s a lot of heat though.

5c under dew point will not buy you anything as far as a overclock goes.

If I might suggest... design the cooling so that it will hold your max load at just above dew point then there will be no need to go through all the insulation of the pipes.

Can you use something like a temp control box to adjust the temps and keep them in a range. Kind of like how the Coolit units do. Maybe a CPEV or something to adjust the system and keep it in a certian range.

I am pretty sure NOL, Sdumper or Ron would know what to use for this.

Well, I've got to say, you've inspired me. The build I'm planning now will be all solid pipe. I'm trying to decide between using compression fittings with ferrules like the ones you've used, and using a flaring tool and flare fittings.

    Progress Update

Work has been crazy this past week so not much progress. I have the two 450s pump/resevoir combos mounted for the HD 6990's and started the 1/2" hard piping. Still need to mod the XSPC 360 radiators to add oulets at the top of the tanks to prevent air pockets in the tanks because of the way they are mounted on top of the case. Have the 3/8" piping run to the side that the two RP-1000BK Bay pumps will be mounted for the mobo/mem/hard drive cooling circuit. I won't install those pumps until I have the FX-8000 processor and pull down my exisitng system for the rest of the parts to make the new complete system. Hopefully this week I can start on wiring and get everything mocked up so I can pull it apart an do the finish painting.

I did one system with blue and red anodized flare fittings. The best place to get the aluminum tubing and flare fittings is www.summitracing.com. Buy the summit brand pipe and fittings and you will save major bucks.

Well it has been a long time since I updated this thread even though the computer has been running for quite some time. I added a LSI 9265-8i Raid Controller and Intel RES2V240 24 port SAS expander and the boot drive is now eight (8) OCZ Vertex 3 120GB SSD's in Raid 0, with a OCZ four (4) Agility 3 60GB SSD Raid 0 Cache drive for the seven (7) Hitachi 2TB 7200RPM SATA III HD' in Raid 6Name: IMG_0375.jpg

Very very nice build. Great pipe work and Congrats on being the first one to REALLY fill up a MM case.

And full it is !!, My next build I will have to find somewhere to buy an even larger case or have to custom build my own. The MM Case needs more drive bays spaces with the new Raid cards and the need to have 16 small SSD's in each drive array. A 16 x 64GB SSD (Vertex 4 or M4) Raid 0 on a LSI 9000 series controller gets 140,000-160,000 IOPS and +3,500mb/s read/writes. You need two of these Logical drives and then a big +8 x 2-4TB HDD Raid 6 logical drives for video/data storage. Having tons of 2 1/2" SSD's is now the norm. Just plain "need for speed"!!
