    My custom waterblock for GTX480

    Dear users of XtremeSystems,
this is my custom waterblock. Block is made the conventional milling and No CNC and NO program !!!
Block has been made many problems... phew..
For example soldering in one place

Block material is copper(nickelplated),TOP is 10mm polycarbonate.

Next is a description and pictures..

    Final product

    Block for videocard

    Other side videocard

    Backplate for GPU

    Preparing for mount waterblock

GPU and memory is use thermal grease, for VRM and other is use thermal pad.
Green- original 1mm thermal pads, Pink - 0,5mm thermal pads by Alphacool.

    Making Of

Start was channel for the "O" Ring. Semi-finished is copper 120x10.
Centering points is highly important for milling diameter and radius for rotary table.

    Chanel and O ring

Channel miling for active area for waterblock

    Radius and diameter miling

    Almost finished front side waterblock

    Base for the block

    Almost finished...

    Last pics before nickleplated

Block was acid(contamination cooking oil(threads) and flux for soldering )

    Nicklelplated block

    Block,O ring,TOP

    Conclusion and temperature tests

Block is fully functional and my GTX 480 is icy
For testing used Watercool MORA 2 Radiator and last version Furmark.

    Fully passive operation

    Using fans

    Special thanks

grand master Gorelord for by Aquacool.cz - support

    Wroom and liquidtech (Nickelplated)

A few words in conclusion,TOP is only BETA version. It will be another...
    To be continued, soon ....

That is damn impressive. Especially without the use of a CNC.

Wow, that's impressive! Having tried myself on a couple of cpu blocks on an all manual mill, I know how much time this stuff takes.

It's also getting more and more rare to see anyone fabricate parts.

    True crafstmanship..kudos

Wow, extremely well milled, especially since it's copper !

My milling machine is very slow Only 1400RPM
For small tools It is a problem.
For channel of O oring is use milling cutter Ø 2,5 (2-fluted)
