Modded Corsair H70 as a GPU Cooler

Our very own Jake Crimmins has modded an H70 and fitted it to an Nvidia GeForce 480 GTX replacing the stock GPU cooler. Read about the astonishing results HERE.

What if Corsair marketed the H50/H60/H70's with new brackets that fit GPUs D: I think it would work well, considering the price of watercooling a GPU this would probably even work better than aftermarket GPU air coolers.

Just make an universal gpu mounting. You can sold it as an optional acessories.
    It will broader your base

Those temps seemed awefully high stock.
But maybe that's because it was the high end vga, my 460se is way cooler then that.
Still it's very cool, and decent results too.

Mine runs about 18c-60c, on stock cooling with no tim redo.
Love to have a h70 on it to clock it with.

Thanks for the heads up Yellowbeard.
It would be nice to see these sold with the optional bracket for a few diff vga card types.
A socket a type of adapter would be nice too.

Adapters can't be to much to produce, and they would increase the value of the expensive cooler.

For a 480 those temps are normal...

I think there's a market for this type kit.

Yes, and such a simple conversion kit to manufacture, just a new brackett + plus some screws.

This is a good idea. Most CPUs can be overclocked to decent levels using air cooling while retaining acceptable noise levels. Most stock GPU coolers are horrible, too hot and too loud. And after-market solutions are not always available.

H70 uses a big lumbering rad, not very easy to place in a lot of cases if it were used as a GPU cooler IMO. Might work out for a H50 though.

    How about...

    rear 120mm fan mount?

    The H50 + 25mm fan is slightly larger than a 38mm fan...smaller than a Triebwork fan.

the H50 pump is way to big to use for GPU cooling
so maybe you mean the H60?

however i think the H70 is still a good fit, as long as you dont have a big air cooler on the cpu (hopefully that is also on its own H70)

Sorry I wasnt even thinking about the pump size at the time...yes the H60 would be better in a space where the H70 rad wouldnt fit.

If the hoses of the H70 are long enough, it can be placed in the rear side of the front 5 1/4" bays....i believe it would fit in any case there, depending on the number of empty bays...

sucking cold air from the front would give nice cooling performance...

I think even H50 would be powerful enough to cool it nicely without much noise.
