    Rampage III Black first touch

    Hey guys, Been playing with R3B for a couple of weeks now when i have had time and thought i would share some pics and my first session on this awesome motherboard.

    Test setup:
    Intel i7 990x
    Asus Rampage 3 Black
    Asus Direct CUII 580
    Super talent c7 2000
    Corsair AX1200






































    I am still working a few things out on this board, so far i love it, i have notice i have a lower cb and cbb on the r3b, achieving -120cbb and -150cb. I am very glad they have upgraded the chill pwm, i run this board solid at -150 for 2 hours and did not notice any vdroop as with R3E.

    Nice start mate, I was wondering if anyone was doing anything with this board. I was actually out looking for reviews tonight and was surprised to see they are rather thin on the ground.

    Love the disorganised bench too; lighter, digitor DMM, stanley screwdriver from bunnings, a toilet roll tube and a pack of ciggies. Rather odd mixture of parts to the untrained observer

    Hey uncle fester, can you help me out?

    I need to know what that 8-pin header is next to the chassis header on the bottom, near the middle of the board.

    I tried looking in the PDF manual, but nothing says "ROG connect" like it does for the crosshair or maximus/rampage 3 extreme.

    ROG connect is via the verticle USB at the rear of IO shield,
    or do you want the rog connect for the OC station ?

    This board looks soo damn good, props to whoever coded that BIOS.

    Nice shot on that 990, is that the best it can do in CPU test? My 990 is very similar but will not suicide anywhere near yours

    No mate the cpu will run vant at 6ghz easily i was just stuffing around with that one,

    Cpu benches 6.5 am3, 6.2 gt tests 6 cpu test vant,

    OH sorry champ cpu-z doesnt report correct voltages, that was really 1.85v, gt tests were run at 6.1ghz cpu just playing it safe at 5.7

    Asus Rampage III Extreme.

    I wouldnt mind having any brand, but I simply liked the colours and slot layout on the R3E. I like the new Gigabyte orange X58, but I wouldnt have bought it because it lacks a soundcard slot like the R3E boards have, and also the R3E was the first such layout available on the market.
