great thread! I've had this board for about 2 months now (B3) and it seems "OK"... some weird issues, but I can just blame ASUS on them, as im sure all these new generation p67 boards will all have some certain "quirk" For some reason I need 1.430v for 4.82GHz stable, seems rather high, but not all chips are =!!!

Ok, here is the latest. Running 4800 with 1.4Vc. Stable IntelBurn. Have not tried higher yet! Concerned about Vcore dropping to 1.359 under load and 1.4 when 1600 idle... should it not be reversed?
Also have problems waking from sleep mode.. still working on that as well..
Still using manual ( no idea how to use Offset)..

Is 2500 or 2600 preferred with this board? I'm building soon and plan to get this board.

48 multiplier? Do you have Internal PLL Overvoltage enabled? Sleep will not work with it enabled.

Well, I guess my real question is this:

Since I'm spending 200+ on a board, will the 2500 be worth it considering that the 2600 is only 100 bucks more?

If you will be needing HT, then definitely the 2600K is worth it. If, however, all you do is play games or don't have the need for HT, it's probably a good idea to save the $100.

You where correct... internal PLL overclock has to be disabled. It now sleeps just fine and runs great at 4800.... idles at 1600... very happy.
    Will try 5000 soon.

I **HIGHLY** doubt you will get 5GHz with "internal PLL" disabled, you will mostly likely 110% need PLL "ENABLED" to achieve that goal

I have been breaking some 3dmark 2006 records with the 4870x2

    http://3dmark.com/3dm06/15653763

In fact the top 5 scores for 2500k/4870x2 are all mine lol

So now that I have gotten 100.1x48 stable at good volts I am going to try for a 24/7 5.0Ghz+ with my goal of staying well under 1.4V vcore. That's this weekend project-plus I want to play around with the offsets. I have been running a straight Vcore

There are CPUs out there that work at 5Ghz and beyond with PLL disabled..., though they are rare
Question : Why do some overclockers switch into d*ckmode when money is involved

Remark : They call me Pro Asus Saaya yupp, I agree

Lets see some 5GHz+ on this board! I hope its overclock potential is as mean as its looks are!

Pretty normal operating temps for 1.5Vcore. What happens if you install a fan on the shield ? I got pretty good results temp wise...

I got 5Ghz with 2600k and 4.8 with 2500k with this board, 24-7 stability. +0.1 offset for both.

Well you are correct. tried 1.5Vc and freezes in Windows. Going to enable the internal PLL overclock and bench over 5000, I am sure but going 24/7 at 4800 and sleep working :-)

    Question

I'm considering this board for a build in a month or so, will be using a 2600k.

Am I right in thinking its only got 1x 16 lane PCI-e 2.0 slot? I have one GTX570 SC but want to buy one more for SLI, would it be better off with another board that can do 2 x 16 lane PCI-e 2.0 slots or is it no big deal dropping to 8 lane?

Otherwise board looks fine to me.
