Thanks for the thread! I just got this board myself and will be installing it in a Silverstone TJ09 case with a 2500k and H70 for cooling over the next day or 2.

Then comes some serious over-clocking and will post results and experiences here

Suggestion: how about changing the title of this thread to ***Official*** Asus Sabertooth P67 Club/Discussion/Info!** This way people will know its not a thread with a question or single purpose.

Read/watched a new review of the board today here also:

Question : Why do some overclockers switch into d*ckmode when money is involved

Remark : They call me Pro Asus Saaya yupp, I agree

I finally got my system up and running only to find that my mass storage HD Hitachi Sata3 7200rpm 2TB drive from Newegg was DOA-everything else is running and I installed Win7 on my C300 SSD.

Tom I will get going on some stability testing and overclocking

I had problems with my Hitachi 3TB drive and was close to sending it back. It appeared to be working but added 45 seconds to the boot time when connected (its not the system drive). When disconnected, the boot time was 15 seconds. However, the 1502 bios came out and since then it worked fine.

My USB3 SSD drive is working better since the 1502 bios and I am no longer getting the well reported system crash. However, the USB3 still suffers when trying to transfer large files or a lot of files. It sometimes drops the drive during file transfers. It also keeps the drive running when the system is shut down.

Since the 1502 bios though everything has been more stable.

    I still have two issues.
1 - certain programmes (Acronis True Image Home or Paragon Backup for example) prevent windows from shutting down (been suggested that they are not ready for UEFI and the drivers they install cause issues on shutdown).

2 - window redraw/repaint on certain programs doesnt work if certain other programs are running. e.g. if displayfusion or admuncher are running, the administrative tools/services window will not redraw when the window is dragged bigger (it only happens with that, MS Money and MS Autoroute so far- so no biggy). - its not graphic card/driver issue as I have switch ATI and Nvidia. Its not a software issue as I tried a clean install and only put those programs on it and it caused it. I suspect that is a programming issue but it is not one that occurs on my old system. Even without those programs running, the services window doesnt redraw/repaint smoothly if you drag the window larger quicker compared to other windows where you do the same.

Initially, I was a little disappointed. The shutdown issue, the drive issue, the USB3 issue and the repaint issue all making the experience far from enjoyable for what should be a decent upgrade (to 2600k from core 2 8500). However, with the latest bios clearing up two of those (mostly in the case of USB3) and the shutdown issue likely to get fixed as UEFI becomes better supported by either of those two programs, that just leaves the weird repaint issue and I can live with that (or without the programs causing it).

Ok I have not tweaked very much so far beyond updating to the 1502 bios and I am not sure I am comfortable with the 24/7 vcore of 1.4 but here is a first screen=have to modify my sig lol....but 2500k, 8GB gskill ripjaws, H70 cooling with stock fans replaced by 2 San Ace'a.

Edit: I had settled on 4.8Ghz as a good 24/7 since so far stable at 1.330vcore and 11c lower than at 5Ghz. Then I lowered CPU PLL by 2 notches off their lowest varying rate that I saw under the Auto setting. Seems to have a good impact in being able to lower Vcore-needs more testing

Just got mine... lots of switches in BIOS and not at all sure how to use many. Now set to manual and running 4.7 at 1.35 (2600k) Still testing but help using the BIOS would be a PLUS... this ofset vcore thing is confusing..
Came with 1305 but I flshed to 1502 last night.

Running almost 9 hours of prime blend which for some reason crapped out faster on Sandy before Linx?. I did 25 passes of Linx and 25 of Intelliburn but 95 blend crapped out a worker after about 5 hours. So I upped the vcore one last notch and am stable!

This board is a very good overclocker imo, also the Sunbeam Rheosmart fan controller is working great on this board managing all six fans based on temps very well in auto mode. I had read that it was not working so well on many other motherboards.

    This will be my 24/7

Nice voltage on 4.8. Probably not worth the extra volts and heat for that extra 200Mhz

I agree. I satisfied my ego by being able to run and bench at 5.0Ghz but as from my early screen above those temps I don't like at 1.4vcore. Maybe if I swapped out the H70 for a true WC setup-but that project is for another time lol..

One thing I notice on this board. One of the few things that distinguish it from the other Asus boards is the "armor" cover. I installed the little 50mm fan in the assist slot (Asus should really include one in the box)

Motherboard temps are around 24C which is pretty good temp right?

and thats with the very very hot 4870x2 in the case. System is in the basement however where its always overall cooler.

I can't get over how good the Sunbeam Rheosmart fan controller is working. On the auto setting and when the CPU is not under strain the system is just about totally silent. No clicking from the San Ace's either which surprised me. All the fans are 3 pin and they plug into the controller and then a 4pin to 4pin goes from the controller to the CPU header and ramps up based on the temps.

I have not totally figured out yet how to play with the fan settings but the default works well so far.

Yeah that is one of the main draws of this board, tons of monitoring options, and tons of fan control. A 50mm would be nice but it really isnt necessary unless you have no downward airflow. Im reviewing this board now so Ill show the temperature differences with no fan, a downward fan, and 50mm fan.

I'm having the infamous "idle" crash/freeze bug. I can stress test for hours on end but at idle I am getting random freezes-they seem to happen most when something stressful finishes-Like I can run a 3dmark test and when it finishes and I am back at the desktop the system freezes. From what I have read it could be:

The C3/C6 states which I enabled yesterday
    the Intel RST drivers
Mem needing a bit more voltage

I will start with the C states disabled and test

err...i have all on auto and i fail prime95 blend after 4 hrs with multiplier 40x? i cant get this blend stable at all..seems like troubles never going to end..

Edit: Seems my ram is the problem, lowering to 1066mhz seems to work. Failing all tests at 1333mhz and rated specs http://www.corsair.com/memory/xms-cl...4g1333c9a.html

Well that fixed it. Disabling the C3/C6 ended the freezes and random reboots at idle. I was reading over at HardOCP that Asus has been disabling those states now by default in the P67 boards and that the auto setting means that its not enabled. They did this because of this problem that effects many people it seems. I didn't know about this issue though and so enabled them and then the problems started.

Just an FYI for anybody who may run across this issue.
