They go for about 110 here in DE.

Btw, for anyone interested. Mines been running without problems. The FAN is very quet too.

Voltage regulation is not possible via AfterBurner or Sapphire TriXXX. Atleast not yet?! Not tried to overclock with stock volts yet, so nothing to report there

According to the Sapphire announcement it will be possible.
    From http://www.sapphiretech.com/presenta...articleID=3391

"Both cards feature new SAPPHIRE original cooler designs, and optimised voltage regulation, which together with clock and memory speeds can be adjusted with the SAPPHIRE TriXX overclocking tool "

I wonder how 5850 Extreme compares to 6850 in Crossfire as 6800 Series
made significant improvements in CF, and I plan to get another 6850 down
    the line.

Did you try the latest version of Trixx (V4)?

The latest one from http://www.sapphiretech.com/ssc/TriXX/ (v4)
But, it shows up as 3.0.7. Installer filename says v4 too. Weird

Currently testing 800/1200 via FurMark. So far, so good.

SAPPHIRE Eligible Product List for TRiXX Utility lists both the 5850 Extreme and the 5830 Extreme

Maybe the next version of the software will unlock voltage setting.

Also, did you perhaps install TrixxV4 over older version of the software?
If yes, try uninstalling the software and do a fresh install of V4 ...looking

Na, first time i installed Trixx.
According to a few forums, 3.0.7 is normal.
I have no idea where 4.0.15 comes from. Not on the lovely DriverCD either

Oh btw. 800/1200 is stable. Havent tested any further.

Wow, leftover Cypress chips using the 6850 PCB. Pin-compatibility does pay off.

They should have upped the VRAM to 2GB.
1GB is a bit thin these days..

Sapphire had just notified us that they are working on a new version of TriXX to fully support the HD5800 Xtreme series and it will be posted in Sapphire's TriXX website once it is launched.

I bought one of the 5850s to crossfire with my reference XFX 5850.

    They crossfire nicely.

Although I can't overclock the sapphire with trixx or MSi afterburner.

I use afterburner to Manage my XFX card. I hope the sapphire works with it in the future w/o bios flash.

Any news on overclocking and voltage control anybody? I'm eyeing one of these to use in my gaming system for the next 6 months or so and for $140 you can't beat the performance you're getting!
