    Bloodrage/PSU issue

So I'm taking apart my PC to upgrade the cooling system and I find this:

I've been noticing USB devices freezing up and dropping out...would this have anything to do with it?

    Any ideas what caused this?

I know I have to send the PSU back, but should I RMA the mobo as well?

    Thanks

You couldnt post that picture any bigger, could you?

Its shorted and burned. Yes it could cause problems. Im kinda suprised that mobo still works. Btw. next time, buy better PSU, ok?

    LOL sorry about the picture.

The power supply is a PC power and cooling. I don't see where anything actually shorted out, though. I've inspected the motherboard and it looks okay. Maybe I'll test it with an old power supply to see if the board is okay.
Its funny that they are both of the 12v connectors. I have to RMA the PSU but they really haven't given me any advice on whether to RMA the board or not.

If mobo works correctly, its ok. Test it with older PSU as you said.

    Yeah, it's a PCP&C. Silencer 860w

I'm no expert on PSUs but I have a theory on what happened. I think I had the wires tied back too tight and it caused stretching in the P1 connecter. Some seem to think that this bad contact could cause that. That is the only thing I can really think of besides some type of internal problem with the PSU.

I'm still using the board with another PSU so all seems well at the moment. Glad I didn't have to RMA the board, but I'm going to keep an eye on it until I get my PSU back.
