Question Help me with a sound card please?

Hey guys , i have my own custom built PC of course this is ( Xtreme Systems) LOL and i just picked up some Tannoy Reveal 501A 5" Active 2-Way Studio Monitors . I went to Guitar Center to listen to these or the KRK Rokits and these sound better . I am not a DJ but i LOVE music , beats, bass, all of that so i enjoy it all and like some gaming with my rig. I will def look into possibly mixing and making some beats as a hobby for fun so ill be adding more equipment down the road but is there any specific sound card to get for studio monitors ? Any help would be appreciated ! Thanks !

Im assuming you are using analog out into a professional power amplifier? Or maybe just line level into the studio monitors... Anyway, you want a nice external DAC for best results. Even the best sound cards cant compare to a good external DAC. I personally recommend and own an Audio-GD FUN. It is really nice for how cheap it is. And it sounds especially nice if you custom make some op amp adapters with AD797BRZ op amps. If you get the FUN and need the op amp upgrade then I can make one for you as I have some extra op amps and the adapter boards sitting right here.

If you really want to stay internal, then get an Asus Xonar Essence ST, or an HT-Omega Claro Halo XT, or the new Auzentech X-Meridian 2G

Well if you want the "best" and dont mind the price, then get this:
    http://www.audio-gd.com/Pro/dac/NFB7/NFB7EN.htm

haha, that one is probably out of your price range though.

Remember, these high end external DAC units dont decode things like Dolby or DTS. If you want to use that stuff you will need normal consumer grade stuff and you are better off getting a nice sound card.

It's for guitar and mic (dual inputs) but works great connected to PC for internet radio, CDs, movies, music creation, whatever.

Edit: The MoblePre USB is used for calibrating Home Theater set ups with REW.
