    970

Does the Bloodrage support the Intel I7 970 CPU? I have searched but really can not find anything on someone actually running a 970 on this board. Although it looks like one of the later bios updates says that it added support for Gulftown cpus but I'd just like to confirm before I purchase one. Any feedback would be much appreciated. Thanks.

Sorry I guess I got a little ahead of myself. I meant the Bloodrage. I edited the OP to include the name of the board.

If I remember correctly, since G33/P10 bios BloodRAGE/BloodRAGE GTI has Gulftown support. So, any newer bios should be fine .

970 needed a microcode update. Any bios supporting 990x will support 970, so I think you're limited to P11. G44 *may* work.

G44 will work for 990x. P11 works better for 990x... I would start with P11 for the 970.

Just to update both p11 and g44 work. Is there a general consensus on which bios is better?

P11 allows the multi to go past 26x with turbo on with the 990x. Voltages match from bios to cpuz which didnt on G44. Not sure about effects on 970.

Loving this board so far. Got my 970 to 4.5ghz and with the included water block I can keep my mosfets nice and cool compared to the 90* C + I was getting on my EVGA board. Is there any way to actually monitor the mosfet temperature on this board just for the sake of curiosity?
