    Test of G.Skill Ripjaws-X F3-17000CL8D-4GBXMD

    Rams, packaging and accessories:

    Test on socket 1155

    Intel Core i7 2600K
    ASUS Maximus IV Extreme
    ASUS GTX 580
    OCZ Core v2 30GB
Cooler Master Silent Pro Gold 1200W

Bclk wouldn't go higher than 105MHz so not much point in increasing timings

    Test on socket 1366

    Intel Core i7 990X ES
    ASUS Rampage III Extreme
    ASUS GTX 580
    OCZ Core v2 30GB
Cooler Master Silent Pro Gold 1200W

    1032MHz 6-8-6-20-1T 1.8V

Bad IMC so rams wouldn't go high enough for increased timings to make sense. Around 1050 6-9-6 didn't seem worth it.

Quick comparison between 1GHz 6-8-6 vs 7-7-7, just about equal:

Nice kit, thanks for the test. Did you have a look under the heatspreader?

And by the way, why didn't you post it in the Xtreme Bandwidth subforum?

Why do I feel like you had these sticks were under the sink?

I doubt my luck would be so good

For sure A tiny bit more binned and they'd easily outshine the best of hypers (1100 6-8-6 ).

Why would they be? Also 7-10-10 is probably not as good binned as 8-9-8. I requested the 2300 7-10-10 though but weren't available.

the 8-9-8 2133 is definately better than the 7-10-10 2200, and 7-10-7 2133 (having tested all 3 kits)

great write up elmor, just wish it were sooner so i didnt waste my money going through all these kits.

Quick update on MSI Big Bang Marshal and cpu under LN2 (~-50). Helped a little but not that much, max bclk at 105.5MHz. Rams still have more to give. 32M is crap but didn't have time to make a better one.

Vccsa and vccio at 1.2v, not sure that much is needed though.

Hope you don't mind elmor. I think it's safe to say they have plenty of headroom, yet to explore various timing combo's still pushing higher speed.

These are same modules btw, no clue what is up with spd, got my sample early

No worries, seems you have a bit more bclk headroom than I do Let's see 1150 6-9-6 and some 32M times leaving Hypers in the dust (key is voltage, I used 1.85v for the last result)

Excelent memories, one of the best kits for SPI 32M on SB

What voltages did you use on Marshal for SA and VCCIO? 1.2v like on M4E?
