Firefox 4 and GPU utilization

Installed Firefox 4 yesterday...I like! But as I was typing out a reply to a post here this morning, I noticed the temps rising on one of my GTX275s. I opened up AIDA64 and saw this:



AIDA64 also reported clocks at 3D levels. When I switched to a different tab, clocks/utilization dropped to normal. Switched back to the tab where I was editing a post, and clocks/utilization/temps went right back up. Weird.

I disabled hardware acceleration in ff options, and everything's OK now.

Anyone else seeing this?

Nice fine ... this could seriously screw with GPUGrid runtimes ... is your browsing experience much different with hardware acceleration off?

Is the WoW character still working *properly* for you

Can't say that I'm noticing any difference in browsing experience with HW accel off, but now that I've started looking at FF4 more closely, I'm seeing other performance issues that are causing me to re-think the wisdom of upgrading. As I'm still on 258.96 drivers (don't ask), I'm gonna see if there's any change when I install 266.58.

Is the WoW character still working *properly* for you
