P6T -Deluxe acting weird... need some advice

    Hey guys,

My Asus P6T Deluxe is acting weird....

    ok lets begin.

I built it on a piece of cardboard to begin with.

stock air cooler, gpu stock cooling and all 6 sticks of ram. worked fine. *SEE NOTE*

i went on to install the waterblocks for the CPU, GPU and motherboard. it fired up no problem. got till "no operating system found" *SEE NOTE*

so i took it all apart and put into my case.

i fired it up, everything turns on, hdd's, opticals, fans, the motherboard lights all light up (the white ones at SB, and blue ones under RAM), but i get no beep, no video, no post.

i remove 3 sticks of ram, same thing, i remove all the ram get ram beep code. so i start installing 1 by 1 ram in all slots. same thing, no post no beep no video

i resit gpu, no psot no beep no video. remove gpu and get the longest most annoying beeeeep ever

i pulled out the cmos battery, to reset, and when i put it back in, and replugged the power cord. it fired up! started to install windows everything going fine, until it restarts. it restarts, and again no beep, no post, no video.

i pulled out the cmos battery again for a couple of minutes, put it back in... fired up... continued windows install.

i figured it was the cmos battery or something, so i took a cmos battery out of a motherboard that was 100% functional 2-3 weeks ago (still about a year old though), and the same thing happens.

I dont think tis the gpu, else it would never show video, cpu pins seem fine too... i also tried with a box new psu, and the same, it wouldnt boot. (mind you i only connected the bare essentials)

im going to go buy some new batteries, and i also have another cpu i can try out. but im wondering if you guys have anything else i might consider?

(oh forgot to say that i managed to flash the bios aswell to the latest available...)

do you think it could be the battery?

*note* it may have only fired up because the cmos had been cleared from being inactive for a while...

It sounds like you have a motherboard problem or maybe memory problem. Can you test the memory in another rig?
It is a lot of work, but you might consider taking everything out of the case again to rule out that you have a short anywhere or bad connection.
I would be amazed if the battery is the problem especially as you tried 2 already.

Could be, carefully bend it back and see if your problems go away. Try to only bend it once. One time I tried to get it perfect and bend it to many times and it broke off.
If it is not 100% in line with the other pins let it be. As long as it cannot touch the other pins it will probably be fine.

Yeah, it's most likely your motherboard. I presume you tried all this without case?
If it still does act like that outside the case I would RMA the motherboard.
