Koolance Block for Radeon HD 6990 (VID-AR699)

Below is a first sample picture of our FC block for the AMD Radeon HD 6990 (VID-AR699).

I don't have the bottom and internal pics yet, but those and pricing should be up by the end of the week when our first stock arrives!

Is it not technically possible to keep the ports on the WB lined up between different models? I'm thinking for people who want to run a 6990+6970 in tri-fire, for example... looking at your blocks, it's obvious they don't line up, making water cooling crossfire/SLI (or adding a different card for physx, say) a complex affair at best...

Wouldn't the gold plating you want clash a bit then? I know we could go red/black for the Radeons and green for the GTX's, but these colors seem safer if someone's doing a non-AMD/NVIDIA themed build.

We try to do this for as many blocks as possible (our GTX 580 block will align with our GTX 460, for example), but it was more difficult for us on this dual GPU model without losing flow rate and increasing cost.

I wish I could find the picture I am looking for but I think this does some justice. If your lucky 2 of the ports will line up like this 5970 + 5870

If not you might just have to get creative with some tubing

You used an hard way by making 3 Mazes, I suppose 'cause it was impossible to you to build one big Maze for the whole card.

No acrylic. The top is stainless steel, which wasn't shown in the disassembled picture and caps the top paths in the acetal. We also did that for our HD 6970 block.

We didn't find it necessary this time to add fins to the VR area. It did need a dedicated water path, though.

No back plate for ours-- just the stock AMD one.

The cards look great with the water blocks installed, much better than the "full coverage" approach that EK is going to have. They really look like they belong. A lot of area of heat transfer tape for the memory and the power. Now for the power benching to begin

Using the stock back-plate is a nice touch. It took me a while to figure out on my 6970 block, but re-using the stock place with the cap nuts works very well.

I'm SO waiting for mine to get here. Ok sure, I just ordered it this afternoon, ok sure, it hasn't even shipped yet, but GRRR I can't wait. I sold my HD 4870 X2 on Ebay with the VID-487X2 attached and I LOVED that block. Damn expensive but worth it. That card and this card [HiS HD6990 Ref] run pretty much the same stock temps with stock hsf but [150F idle 205F+ load] that block dropped it down to about 104F idle and NEVER above 155F load. I was VERY happy. Can I expect that with this one or better?
