Anyone have experience with this product - Koolance ERM-2K3UCU (3U) Rev1.1

    As described here:

    http://www.koolance.com/water-coolin...roduct_id=1030

First would be cooling a single Xeon W3680 at 4.53 GHz. Eventually (3) 580GTX cards, REXIII board block, etc.

May adapt to SR-2 system with Dual X5690s at 4.5+ each, 3X or 4X 580/590, full board block, etc.

Does it get "rackmount server loud" when cranked up to full speed?

You're talking about watercooling a setup worth easily 5000$ with a silly pre-built/super expensive kit?

If you don't even know what you'll be cooling, perhaps you should spend more time thinking about the setup you want to buy now and how to cool THAT properly.

The requirements are it must be rack mountable and sturdy.
The ease of connecting to any kind of system is a plus.
Installing any components outside of blocks obviously - is not an option.

I have plenty of systems now but need to test out single blocks for CPU first. This looks like a cheap solution that's packaged and works.

unless u intend to buy a rack and mod it to butfungulio and back..

this is the only rack mounted solution.

    How does it perform?
Well not one has gotten one.
The thought of something that expensive, would make you draft a custom from getgo.

If one had the resources.. like me.. one could do it... but to the normal person.. its the only option.

As i said... i cant think of anyone whose played with one.
This isnt the type of item that i or even skinnee can goto tim and ask for a sample of.

Trust me, i feel bad enough when tim sends me stuff to play with for free.
Having him send me something like this would be a bit too much, so we never assume we'll ever see it.

It looks like a decent res, very nice pump, and the equivalent of a 4x120 and 3x120 radiator in a prepackaged setup. It has temperature monitors with alarm and shutdown features and full fan/pump speed control. The only fault I see for it's use is that it doesn't run 2 pumps in series for redundancy, but the pmp-450 is a very reliable pump. This package is basically equivalent to:

    MCR420 - $85
    MCR320 - $70
    PMP-450s @ 24v - $110
    Cylinder Res - $50
    Aquaero 5 Pro - $150
    Fans + Fittings - $80
    Cheap 4u Case - $70
    Cheap PSU - $40

So a total of around $655 worth of good quality gear that looks pretty damn nice for what it is. Not the best value, but no where near as bad as a lot of pre-built kits. Actually pretty damn nice for the niche it serves.

LOL... id like to see you try to build one...

    BTW its a 3U and not a 4U.
And modding a rack case which is usually made out of japanese steel is a pain in the freaken butt.

Its not as easy as you think setting up a system like this..

LOL i would honestly like to play with one..
But the price on it.. man... I would rather build multipul systems from the koolance exos shells, and stack them on top of the racks... IMO...

I think one of my exos builds costed roughly 400-450 dollars so it should come out almost even.

I know it's 3u, but I would assume that you would want at least one slot under the box open for air flow to the 2 220mm fans. I know it'd be a pain to build something like this, hence me saying that it is pretty nice for the niche it serves.

I was just trying to say what the parts were equivalent to. I don't think anyone here would have issue with a custom build using the parts I listed.

    I suggest you look here:
    http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-_MhjyqKDCc

A guy cooling 980x and 3 cards with it, without any rack mounting.

It looks to be pretty nice for an external complete system.

That same guy I have see using a MM UFO case before. Not sure if it was before or after the 800D, but he use the same cooling system.
    CPU: 3960X @ 4.8GHZ
    Motherboard: RIVE
    Memory: G.Skill Ripjaws Z 2133@LC9
    GPUs: Quad-SLI 580 @ 970
    Case: MM Ascension CYO
    PSUs: Corsair AX1200, Enermax 1250

Yes that video I found has it and I noticed when he turned it off then on it sounded like the fans sped up to full briefly. Not very loud at all!

When I first saw these they were Al only and I thought that was kind of gross but a Cu radiator is much better.
