    Question New B3 P67 Boards?

I have read about some problems with the new B3 P67 boards? Are these random issues or something to worry about. I was thinking about the Asus Deluxe, Maximus IV, UD5, UD7, or Asrock Extreme 6 boards.

I need a good P67 for chilled water cooling both the 2600K and a single GTX 580 GPU. This build needs to last a while so I may add another 580 down the road. I read the article on the Z68 on Toms and it does not appear that it would be of any great benefit to me to wait for them. I will have a SSD but it is the OCZ RevoDrive X2 PCI-E 240GB SSD.

Again any opinions and advice appreciated!

    THANKS!

Here is one link but I have read about but there are others with similar issues. Some are saying they need more Vcore with the B3 boards then they did before??? Unfortunately many of these things I am just learning about and don't know the tech side of it very well yet.

You can do a B3 search and read more. I just wondered how serious this may be or if it is just needing updated Bios??? This is why I posted.

That second link says absolutely nothing except the auto setting is giving more vcore to that cpu.
That's a total non issue; on my B3 ud5, my first 2600k showed identical auto voltages for VID as a B2, and a second 2600k shows same vcore at 3.4 ghz as the first 2600k, but lower vids for 4-5ghz, and runs at lower voltage (but runs hotter).

FWIW the first replacement B3 board Asus sent me was a dud. (P8P67-M Pro) They crossed shipped another and it's been rock solid. The new updated bios on the B3 is much better than the original. Still playing with the OC. Currently @ 4.636GHz. What I really like is my 1600MHz. GSkills are currently purring along at 1923MHz.

    Question

Same and similar issues discussed right here on Xtreme. Look at the last couple pages of this thread.

Any issues are bios related, not chipset.
Asus is using the same bios in their old board as the B3, for some weird reason. Gigabyte starts with F1....

The random BSOD is probably a defect somewhere, and not a chipset bug or something.

Youre not going to be getting the same overclock with the same voltage with a UD5, as the LLC is completely changed, as LLC1 and 2 work properly now.
