P6tD-D BIOS freezing at "Detecting SATA"

My PC crashed yesterday (it's previously been rock solid since November when I last reformatted) and after a forced restart I couldn't get past the "Detecting SATA 2" during POST, where it froze.

After pulling one of the drives (Vertex RAID 0) I got the bios to boot all the way to the RAID part where it said that one of the drives had failed (probably because it was unplugged).

I reset the bios from RAID to ACHI, reformatted the remaining drive and performed a clean install which worked fine.

today it crashed again, I can't get past "Detecting SATA" in POST. I've tried different SATA ports and cables but to no avail. The chance of two SSDs going down is fairly remote I would have thought?

I'm wondering if this is a motherboard SATA issue?

I have the same problem here even though my overclock should be super stable according to linx etc.
To be extra safe I upped the voltages one notch after that and still I get some random BSOD's (0x0000124 / 0x00000D1 / 0x000000A and some other) after which my rig doesn't go past DETECTING SATA 3 (p6x58d-e).
I just press the power button when this happens and it will boot normally afterwards.

Do you know which DSOD you got? I figured the only common thing with the BSOD's I got was that it could be a memory problem or disk problem.
However, I can run memtest all day and I am beginning to suspect my ssd now although I have this problem for 5 months now and you would think it would have failed completely by now. (BSOD's happen once a week to twice a day).

The strange thing is I had this same exact problem with 2 p6x58d-e motherboards with a i7 930 and W3520.
I now have lowered my overclock somewhat to 4150 Mhz and see how that goes,
although it would be really strange that I had the same problem with 2 mobo's and 2 CPU's.
Next I will switch my G2 from port 3 and see if that changes anything.

If I find out what the problem is I will report here.
