GTX550 Ti Spotted at Retail Store (Hong Kong)

    http://www.qk123.com/forum/thread-9758-1-1.html
Just Spotted in a local website in Hong Kong
They said it's shown in Retail Store

Isn't nVIDIA haven't lift the NDA yet ?
    FYI :

    1 USD = $ 7.78 HKD
    $1180 HKD => ~$ 150 USD

Looks like nVIDIA GTX550 Ti Target will be HD5770 (or Rename HD6770)

For China, NDA generally means Nevermind Dat Agreement.

    Hong Kong's not really China...

Back on topic, the $150 USD... I was hoping for something a little lower.

The 192-bit/1GB RAM still weirds me out - actually I'm also kindda eager to see somebenchmarks to see if it really works. I guess we'll also see some non-Ti SKU's with 1-2GB/128-bit to confuse the consumers...

Prices are always jacked high with products that are still under NDA.

I do have a Palit 550 Ti and already checked.

    Hynix memory, 2x 256 MB + 4x 128 MB. That's why you get 1024 RAM with 192 bit controller

    I don't see any point swapping 460 with 550Ti
460 should perform better than 550Ti

Probably GTX 460 768MB may be even SE will be EOL.
So GTX 550Ti would have the rol to fill their place in the gap between GTS 450 and GTX 460 1GB.
From the specification i think that this card would be 10-12% slower than GTX 460 768MB.
But i think that it would have a price about 129-139$(not to forget that this was the original MRSP price to GTS 450) so at the middle between GTS 450 and GTX 460 1GB(after GTX 460 768MB is EOL)
For Nvidia and for some users it's a much better product.
For Nvidia it's much cheaper product to do than GTX 460 768MB,33% less die size, cheaper pcb, cooler.
So Nvidia will do much money with this card than with GTX 460 768MB if it sells well.
For some consumers, the card consumes less power, will work even on some chepear PSU's, and it's very good even for OEM sistems.
Anyway with this card Nvidia is equaling Amd highest gpu frecuency, it has same gpu frecuency as 6870.
So the yelds on Fermi are now better and better.
I hope that they learn a hard lesson on 40nm and on 28nm they will know what to do from the begining.

dang it , Today when I went to that store
The 550Ti disappeared , I asked if they have one for sale
They said someone called (nVIDIA ? or the Dealer ? ) and ask them "nicely" to "remove" the card from showing
    until NDA expired.

They aren't allowed to sell it as well or face legal action .
Looks like nVIDIA is watching the net to see any "breach the NDA" act

I should have bought it last night and run some test

Slipping ~100HKD normally does the trick.

    Anything to be first!
