    Corsair 650D Fan Issue Announcement

Hey guys, Redbeard aka Corsair George is our case PM. He asked me to post this regarding a small issue we found with our initial batch of 650Ds. This is all the info I have at this time.

I wanted to let you know, we have discovered that early shipments of the Obsidian 650D seem to have a buzzing noise when the fan controller is used to run the fans at lower RPMs. We are currently analyzing this problem, and determining the proper solution. Later this month, we will be providing a free repair kit to all 650D purchasers that will correct this issue.

There will be a special page on our web site to obtain this kit, but in the meantime, if you have any questions, send an email to redbeard@corsair.com with the subject line “650D Buzz” and we’ll answer them for you. And, of course, I will keep you posted with the status on this issue.

    Thanks again.

Any update on the repair kit? Couldn't seem to find any page on your website mentioning it. Great case, but that fan is driving me bonkers

    Nevermind, found it:

There's the link in case anyone was wondering. So it is a controller issue and not the fans. That's a relief.

What about USB 3.0 motherboard headers?

Are they going to do anything about that?

It's an absolute deal killer for me without that!

That won't be changed until there is better industry standardization on the header connectors and the cables. The ONLY way to be sure you are getting full unrestricted transfer speeds that are not bottlenecked by the cables/connectors is using the cables we supply now.

    Dear Corsair Reps,

I have an couple of issues with my new 650D case. I emailed Cosair a couple of days ago (June 28th) but never heard back from them. My work schedule kind of precludes me from sitting on the phone waiting for help. Any chance one of you can help me here. Please reply either via this thread or via PM, whichever you feel is more appropriate.

    Thanks,
    Don

Has this been fixed? Okay, I see they have fixed it with a adapter.

Can the fans in this case be replaced?
