Safe temps for Zacate / E-350?

Just built a new HTPC in an original NES. The board is the Gigabyte E350N.

I'm using the latest Core Temp and showing load temps (LinX) of ~65C. I have an 80mm fan on the heatsink vs. the 40mm that came installed. Fan is on a controller and regardless of fan speed, the temps are the same. Temps are also the same with the top on or off the NES so airflow isn't the issue.

Is Core Temp (latest from the website) accurate on the E-350?

I re-applied TIM and got a few C drop but still over 60 load. Low 50's idle.

How hot is too hot? The heatsink doesn't feel warm at all which makes me think the reading might not be right.

I'm also wondering about this... I hope that the new Amd chips don't become like intel chips; Very sharp rises to core temperatures as opposed to the smooth curve on Amd.

Is part of that not just due to the temp sensor location being very different?

Anyway...not seeing any instability or anything, just concerned since this little guy will run 24/7. Plays back Blu-Ray rips with Windows Media Player Classic (Home Cinema) with no stuttering at 25-30% CPU load

What does the BIOS report? It seems like while K10/10.5 used to under report temperature by about 15c, the new APUs DTS may be over reporting by a pretty large margin.

I can't check right now but iirc it was about the same. 50 something C in BIOS.

Being that it can run fanless and not run any hotter than it does with an 80mm fan blowing on the HSF, I'm not real concerned unless I get some stability issues or blue smoke

Mine reads about 60c idle with coretemp, but if I reboot into the bios and check the temp it is about 30c.
