    Swiftech Heatpipe Tower

Just saw the new www.swiftech.com homepage; 5th (last) image in the flash image cycler is a new air cooler I haven't seen before.

Cursory glance shows some good things...staggered heatpipe positioning, sealed sides, non-flat sides. Hopefully it has the typical, great Swiftech mounting hardware too.

Looks pretty small from the picture. Still interested to see how well it performs though.

There's probably a radiator and a pump inside of the fins.

Not a fan of the mounting system at all.

Yeah, doesn't look like the best, or at least compared to what they've had for the Apogee GTZ/XT/XTL.

The airflow chambering looks really interesting. Looks really, really restrictive though....wouldn't doubt it benefits more from push+pull more than other heatsinks (but there's no second fan spot).

It looks like they did a really good job with the base. There's barely any gap between the heatpipes.

Is that necessarily a good thing to not have space between the heatpipes?

i would think so as if they touch it would ballance the heat and the closer they are the more pipes would contract the hot part, but HDT is not the best method for a large number of pipes.

Hmm, should be interesting to see some reviews on this. Any idea why they still sell their old school heat sinks?

Shoulda taken pics of my CCF when it arrived way back when.

Tweezers, a wrench, pliars, screwdriver were involved in preparing it for use.

I don't get why they disregarded push-pull completely with such a dense fin array.
