Question What new GPU? Replacement for GTX 260

    Hi guys.

After a few months saving money to change my GPU, now i'm ready to get a new one.

    Now the main question is:

GTX 460 or GTX 560 Ti. I can afford any of those I just one the best option for the price, I think that is the GTX 560 Ti, but I want confirmation before go with it.

Which brand? I have my eyes in the ASUS GTX 560 Ti DiretCUII, but the EVGA also looks good, more with the lifetime warranty.

You also can suggest another options.

    What do you think?

You can see my specs in my sig.

Certainly the GTX560, as far as brand goes in my opinion it's purely personal preference although the CUII does have a nice cooler.

Of those two, definitely the ASUS GTX 560 Ti DiretCUII. I wouldn't worry so much about the warranty, ASUS uses top tier GPU binning like EVGA, the lifetime warranty is just to get more sales.

For other options, a 5870 is about equal to the ASUS GTX 560 Ti DiretCUII in performance for $40 less, but it doesn't handle DX11 as well.

If you can find one IMO the gigabyte GTX560ti SOC would be your best choice, Guaranteed that the gpu has been binned, and the default core clock is 1000mhz. http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...82E16814125362

Looking around at the gtx580 threads it doesnt appear ASUS or EVGA is binning the GPU's. The vid on the gpu's are not consistent from what I have seen.

MSI gets my vote, ASUS I won't buy anything. EVGA has good warranty and folks to deal with though. My 2 cents

Doesn't necessarily mean much what with every system being different and first batches of new PC products commonly being more inconsistent than later production runs.

if they were really binned, evga would not have changed their warranty terms for overclocked mid range cards, and there would be no VID increase on oced cards.

I recently (within the last 2-3 weeks) purchased an EVGA GTX470SC, vid is 1.025ish. A weeks later I purchased a Gigabyte GTX470SOC card, vid 0.975. The EVGA card tops out at 850mhz in vantage, about 870ish max in 05. The Giga card tops out at 890ish, but will run 05 06 and vantage at the same max clocks. The Soc card scored 49,400's in 3dm05, but Im unable to hit 49k with the EVGA even with a modded bios using 1.213v. The giga has default clock of 700mhz and doesnt require any added voltage up to 825mhz, the evga is 625mhz default and wont do 800 without a bump in voltage. Doesnt seem like this evga card was binned.

The Asus GTX580DCII card I got today has a vid of 1.038v, kinda high IMO but I will say it clocks fairly well, however I have seen reference cards with better vid's than this. I very seriously doubt they are binning these cards.
