Looking at the screenshots, one thing that is apparent is that XBOX + PC both share the same LOW RES textures... Probably one of the main reason why it is very difficult to distinguish one from another.

considering the document compares lighting effects etc and not textures, it would make sense that textures were kept to a similar base line

55 degree FOV. Are they dumb or something. They are so freakin lazy they couldn't even change FOV for PC version to be defaulting at 90 degrees. C'mon, how can you be that freakin lazy Crytek!? 90° is the lowest acceptable FOV for PC games. And they haven't bothered to change even that for PC version. At least this tool will allow me to play the darn game at least half decently...

just like bc2, crysis2 uses a vertical fov. a proper vfov that's equal to a hfov of 100 (for 16:10) is 74. atleast the game has the necessary cvars to change these vaules. not like e.g. far cry 2...

Its actually not a bad game, I like it alot to be honest. But the graphics are nowhere near Crysis 1 and Warhead. I don't even know why they call it Crysis when it shares nothing with the original except for the suit mechanic, which have been gimped and simplified.

I dont know...maybe they want us to get dumber?

It's been gimped for console users. Remember, this isn't a proper PC game - it's a console port.

I really hope when a future patch arrives, Crytek will include DX11 support, more graphics options and hopefully include better looking textures because right now Crysis 2 looks like a disgrace.

And also, its annoying just to input my serial key every time I want to play multiplayer. None of the workarounds I tried worked for me.

It doesn't have any effect on the number of people pirating the games. It simply means a couple of dudes won't crack the game. The hundreds of others still will. The pirate community isn't something where you lop off the head and win. It has no structure like that.

It'd be like 2 grocery stores closing in the United States and then claiming Americans are going to feel the crunch of a food shortage. It makes absolutely no sense. It isn't even symbolic. It accomplishes nothing.

Having the opportunity to pirate games makes me even happier. Such fail "games" like Crysis 2 does NOT deserve to spend money on them.

Well, if whole scene declared title to not be cracked it would do "something".
Theyre the best ones.Yes there are other crackers which are non scene. But theres tradeoff, non scene cracks in a lot of cases dont work properly, dont work from certain point in the game, they often have various malware, they crash. The experience is pretty off putting to most people.

Well they are only 2 moderate big release groups... there are many other big ones, like reloaded, fairlight etc.

I wish Crytek would fix the multiplayer issues, can't even sign in at the moment, and this error existed in the demo, I would have expected them to fix it in the retail version, and guess what? They haven't, not to mention more countless bugs on top of that.

It's a start indeed. The start of an era where a game's community has to go and program a freaking graphic options manager that the developers couldn't possibly bother to make themselves
The community used to dedicate all their time to make mods or other custom stuff. Now they need to use their time to fill the blanks left in the main menu.

Games are slowly removing basic options like mouse settings, any audio setting but volume, and now even graphic options beyond a simple profile based setting.
Next is keyboard bindings i bet, if it didn't happen already in some game I'm not aware of.

Consolization of gameplay is not as bad as the removal of everything that makes a PC game, a PC game.
Publicly available dedicated server binaries, or DS at all; Modding possibilities; customization options. The removal of those is the real consolization of games

Bioware released a texture pack for the PC version of Dragon Age 2. Maybe Crytek will be doing the same...

I think the reduction in graphics quality is punishment on PC gamers for that leak.

No they just punished themselves for failing miserably to implement dx11.
