    RIIIE X58 + HyperX - Finally I get in 3GHz club!!!

    Hi all!

Was having difficulties in other benchmarks etc, so I decided to test this HyperX kit from Kingston. Usually people test memory on P55 or P67 platforms, but why not give a try for X58

I used ASUS Rampage III Extreme and Intel Core i7 990X cpu for this small session.
Memory was cooled with ln2 and there was no pot around them.. just some aluminium foil and paper Temperature was unknown for the same reason.

Here is random 1M run with super latencies :

    Here is the end result:

    It was fun at least!

    Here is the video: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=sVJ5Qj44kOU

Thanks Kingston! Thanks Jimm's PC store and ASUS!
    Thanks Asmola for the help!

It is, but not that much really. There must be some other resons why people use other platforms.

Yes it is. Nice hardware allows you to do nice things
    Surprised?

I don't know are you serious or not, but answer is no. I just sell my CPU pots which does not fit on memory, if I am correct

Well, I could send people a few pieces of toiletpaper and aluminium foil and make some money out of it, but then again...

It was Xtreme overclocking in every dimension!! First we "wasted" almost 20L of ln2 on 3D tests but that result compensated our bad luck.

Dont remember the name of that thermalpaste we used with DCII 580, but i believe we wont try it again..

But after all, it was good learning for me!

Nice work there lads !! easier to clock with 1Gb dimms then with 2Gb version I presume ?
Question : Why do some overclockers switch into d*ckmode when money is involved

Remark : They call me Pro Asus Saaya yupp, I agree

Thanks for all the help Atso! Well, you really saw the downside of overclocking.. when things does not work, they don't

At least we put something out

VTT was 1.55V cause I can not kill these CPU's.

Vmem was 1.95V just in case and that was it

one cool thing on x58 is that you are not bclk limited like you can be on p55.
