I did the same thing when I heard about the release of the ECS H67H2-I v1.1 and the bastards never stocked it, finally snagged one from Superbiiz. Might want to check both on a regular basis.

I don't know that this will ever happen, at least not based on any current tech as this would mean electronics that have no resistance and generate no heat at all. This as mentioned previously would require room temperature superconductors across every component.

The other inherent design flaw in something which is truly 100% efficient is that ANYTHING that goes in must come out, by design power filtration is a source of energy loss, but personally, I'd much rather have stable electricity with some loss than have my computer getting hit with power spikes. This requires the use of things like resistors and capacitors which at least to the best of my knowledge cannot be 100% efficient.

That price is certainly below that which I had anticipated. It's quite a pleasant surprise.
Particle's First Rule of Online Technical Discussion:
As a thread about any computer related subject has its length approach infinity, the likelihood and inevitability of a poorly constructed AMD vs. Intel fight also exponentially increases.

    Rule 1A:
Likewise, the frequency of a car pseudoanalogy to explain a technical concept increases with thread length. This will make many people chuckle, as computer people are rarely knowledgeable about vehicular mechanics.

    Rule 2:
When confronted with a post that is contrary to what a poster likes, believes, or most often wants to be correct, the poster will pick out only minor details that are largely irrelevant in an attempt to shut out the conflicting idea. The core of the post will be left alone since it isn't easy to contradict what the person is actually saying.

    Rule 2A:
When a poster cannot properly refute a post they do not like (as described above), the poster will most likely invent fictitious counter-points and/or begin to attack the other's credibility in feeble ways that are dramatic but irrelevant. Do not underestimate this tactic, as in the online world this will sway many observers. Do not forget: Correctness is decided only by what is said last, the most loudly, or with greatest repetition.

    Rule 3:
When it comes to computer news, 70% of Internet rumors are outright fabricated, 20% are inaccurate enough to simply be discarded, and about 10% are based in reality. Grains of salt--become familiar with them.

Remember: When debating online, everyone else is ALWAYS wrong if they do not agree with you!

    Random Tip o' the Whatever
You just can't win. If your product offers feature A instead of B, people will moan how A is stupid and it didn't offer B. If your product offers B instead of A, they'll likewise complain and rant about how anyone's retarded cousin could figure out A is what the market wants.

It does indeed sound good. I think I may grab the 12x0 watt version once it becomes available.

for a 1000w platinum psu that is an amazing price! i thought the 860w would cost that much. i find it a little disappointing that they still havent improved their cable sleeving. they should take a page from corsairs psu's when it comes to sleeving. (at least for the ax gold models)

SeaSonic's 80Plus Platinum power supplies to reach Europe next month
As recently announced, SeaSonic is planning a November release for its previously-mentioned line of 80Plus Platinum certified power supplies. The units in the pipeline deliver 860W and 1000W of continuous power, are fully modular and have an efficiency of up to 92%.

SeaSonic's Platinum PSUs feature a 'near-perfect' DC-to-DC conversion, 99% active PFC (Power Factor Correction), Grade A 105℃ Japanese capacitors, gold-plated terminals, a dual sided PCB layout, one 12V rail, an Easy Swap connector, and a Sanyo Denki San Ace fan that can be set to operate in one of three modes - Fanless, Silent and Cooling.....
