Right now I seem stable after about 20mins under Prime 95 with a base clock of 160mhz and multiplier of x22.0 and everything still enable (turbo mode, HT, etc). However in order to achieve that I had to retard my memory timings to CL10-11-11-29-88-2t but DRAM Frequency is running at 800mhz (DDR 1600mhz).
My concern is what's better performance wise, should I back off on the base clock a bit to say 150mhz and try running the memory at CL9-9-9 1500mhz and CPU is running at 3.3mhz? Or reduce the FSB/DRAM ratio so the memory is running at 640mhz/1280mhz and try to run SPD timings or better? Or is what I have now the best option?
I should mention I did increase the vcore to 1.2v (CPUZ is reading it at 2.232V ) and the DRAM voltage to 1.6V although that was in an effort to stablize before I figured out it had to do with the memory timings. I'll probably set the voltage back to default for both and re-test. And the last bit of note the memory is naked ,no heatspreader, although according to the specs it's built into the PCB if I'm reading it correctly? http://www.geil.com.tw/products/showSpec/id/209 anyway would getting a heat spreader help things at all? I'm thinking probably not since it would of at least booted and then failed under testing rather then BSOD off the bat if heat was an issue but I may consider it just as a bit of extra precaution if u guys recommend it. Thanks for the help.
