Thx for this list
A new test version of the list, sorted by release date is here. Seems a little more complicated, but you can't argue with the people I guess. Please tell me if you have any trouble viewing this list.

Mm you forgot GuildWars2 which will be > Knight of the old republic just saying.
This year i am getting BF3, Skyrim, and GuildWars2 for sure, GW2 might be early 2012 though so =/
System:
Core i5 750
HD5850
2x2GB DDR3 G.Skill (forget exact name )

Guild Wars 2 is on there. If you think something is not on there, then go 'find in page' in your browser and search for it. You will most likely find it there. Things were easier to find when it was alphabetical, but that's just my opinion, the polls state otherwise.
I would categorize this list by rating.
Crysis 2 should be down, down at the bottom with this system
Certainly a unique way of doing things. Especially when the game is not 'supposed' to be out yet.
Rating / More Expected game/ whatever you want to call it.
The community here is looking forward to some games and at the same time ignoring some others.
It would nice to have our own rating list.
Just an idea though.
If I have to pick one of the poll's options I'm picking release date.
I dont GW2 will be out until next year unfortunately
Shame because GW has been my firm favorite RPG since Baldur's Gate and Morrowind. It gives me plenty enough time to fill out my HoM though, and to try and get God Walking Amongst Mere Mortals which will carry over into the second game :p
Skyrim is another I much anticipate. Also can't wait to see if they produce a Fallout '4'-esque game from the new engine. Plus all the post-made mod's for graphics enhancements. Not only a game release, but an engine of revolution *cross fingers*
I also wonder if BF3's new engine will be used in more games than the last ones were. The engines seem to show much promise at times... hmmm...
This list certainly puts into perspective for at least the remainder of this year, that PC gaming is indeed alive, not dead. Also from the looks of things, it's on the up and up too
What does everyone think of the new list format so far? Any additions to make that anybody has found?

List updated once again. Seems Homefront was rather disappointing with only 2hrs of single player gameplay on hand, and a poor metacritic review, at least Shogun 2 seems to be a lot better.

so far this is being the year of skipping the port-sucks releases..
can i give a suggestion? add "lauched" instead of removing it from the list, it will make things easier for us.
good work, thanks!
If I did that, every game in history released would go on there and the list itself would end up being around 6+ pages just in itself lol
no i meant like in 2012 you remove the 2011 list. theres no point in keeping that of course.
AC: Brotherhood out.. Graphics better than second game, better lights, shadows and sharper textures.. very good looking with sgssaa

That's good to hear and some nice shots you got there :-) Just found something out pretty interesting from Lifehacker -
Google Now Guesses Release Dates For Movies And Video Games
Google has some pretty neat built-in tricks, and it seems they’ve just added another one: with just a quick search, Google will try to tell you the release date of any movie or video game.
Just like the other tricks, Google does everything automatically. Just search for a movie or video game and add the words “release date” to your search (e.g. duke nukem forever release date) and it will try to guess the release date based on information around the net. By default, it will just tell you what web sites have mentioned the date that led it to its conclusion, but you can click the “Show Sources” link to see individual articles that mention the date.
Right now it seems to only work for movies and video games, but this could be useful for all sorts of things — especially when you’re trying to track release dates that keep changing (I’m talking to you, HTC Thunderbolt). Remember, too, that you can avoid these automatically generated results by adding a comma to the end of your search terms, too.

So many disappointments so far with a few surprises. Everything we hope for seems to have failed misurably to some extent, and things we thought were an interesting idea at best, were actually quite cool. Can't wait to see what other surprises may be coming up this year. I hope for many pleasant ones to come.
Bloody hell, Duke done it again. New date is 6/14 and I wouldn't be surprised if
close to that date they'll announce it's not coming out :/

ps. I think best surprise game ever was FarCry, came under all radars, then I saw it and fall in love.

A lot of people were upset to have to download homefront after acquiring the dvd version. For whatever reason they decided to only give you some of the content on disc. The rest has to be downloaded.

Here I thought is was gonna be one heck of a year for PC gaming.
Not so much.
Let's see here....
Dragon Age 2 = FAIL
Crysis 2 = FAIL
That's a 0 for 2 and it's only March!
Asus Z77 Sabertooth | i7 3770k
4x4GB GSkill DDR3 Ripjaws 1600
Corsair H80
Saphire HD7950
HP LP2475W 24" H-IPS Panel
Case: NZXT Switch 810
PS: Corsair HX850
Windows 7 64bit
Can you please stop deleting games once they've been released? It doesn't hurt to leave stuff on there for a year. I just put together a new gaming PC, came back to check this thread and everything released has been wiped.
Just do a thread for each year, and put it in the PC Gaming section ffs. A lot of people are using this as a reference since it's a concise list that doesn't require we look at ugly websites with crappy search tools like PC Gamer or Steam.
And Lu(ky. Have you ever heard of thumbnails? Christ. I mean thanks for the screencaps and all, I game at 2560x1600 as well. But I don't want to have to run Firefox maximized just to avoid scrolling for text in posts.

Bill Cosby: Stewie, what do you think candy is made out of?
Stewie Griffin: Sunshine and farts! What the hell kind of question is that?!
