    Budget AMD Build

Lets see what you guys got! Budget is 600-700, I live in california so be aware of tax and crap this state charges us californians. To better calculate the price here is my zipcode 90292.

    Parts I don't need:
    - HDD
    - Monitor
    - Keyboard
    - Mouse
    - Case
    - OS

    Parts I do need:
    - Mobo
    - Cpu
    - Ram
    - PSU
    - GPU
    - Heatsink

    Things to keep in mind:
    - Must have modular PSU
    - I prefer blue colored mobo/ blue or black ram
    - Will be crossfiring/sli in the near future (this should help with GPU selection)
    - I'd like to be able to run Crisis 2 on high (after the crossfire/sli)
    - also I'm not too anal about gpu but I prefer Nvidia over AMD (puts on tin foil hat)
    - Will also be overclocking the CPU to ATLEAST 4.0 ghz

    RELEASE THE KRACKEN!!

    Biostar TA890FXE 890FX motherboard $140
    955 BE + HIS AMD HD 6950 2GB $440, $420 after MIR
    G.Skill RipjawsX 2x2GB DDR3-1333 CL7 $55
XFX Black Edition 750w 80 Plus Silver (Seasonic M12 platform) $130, $100 after MIR, + 10% off with promo code

$765 without shipping / MIR, I realize this is over your budget but these are the best parts I could find while trying to squeeze into this price range
$705 with MIR and promo code for PSU

You could easily go with a lower GPU, or for an alternative take a look at the Nvidia GTX 560 Ti, but you wont be able to do SLi on AMD without the hack.

If you unlock the 6950 to 6970 shaders (in hopes you'd recieve a reference card) I doubt you would need crossfire.

Of course, you could easily go for 1055T, or even a dual core (chance of unlock as well) if you feel the need.

Heatsink, you cant go wrong with the Thermolab Baram imo

It seems like you have a microcenter about 50 miles from you. Frys is a good spot to get some deals too. Anyway, you can get a mobo free with an AMD purchase from Microcenter.

    http://www.microcenter.com/specials/...ndlePROMO.html

    AMD 1055T + ASUS M4A88TD-V = $244 ($10 MIR)
    -Microcenter
    Corsair CAS 7 DDR3 1600 (2x2GB) = $70 ($20 MIR)
    -Frys
    PowerColor 6950 2GB = $260 ($30)
    -newegg
    Corsair TX750 V2 (possibly new Seasonic platform. The 850 is) = $110 ($10 MIR)
    -newegg

    = $746 including tax
= $676 after mail in rebates.

I know people hate rebates but if you keep a copy of every submission and certificate of mailing, you get all the rebates back. Ive been buying computer parts with rebates for 7 yrs and NEVER not got one back. True, there are some that you have to hassle and get on (looking at you MSI, Biostar, anything to do with my411rebates), you end up getting them if you have all the paper work. And by far, corsair is one of the easiest and best to get back because of their excellent computer rep.

Note: yeah, i think rebates are legal thievery too, but if you dont like it, dont deal with it.
