    $79.99 G.Skill F3-12800CL6D-4GBXH (2x2GB) 1.5v @ DDR3 2133 CL7!

Currently $79.99 @ the Egg, my new favorite budget clocker

    http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...82E16820231444

    G.SKILL Ripjaws X Series 4GB (2 x 2GB) 240-Pin DDR3 1600 CL6 1.5v F3-12800CL6D-4GBXH

    Test Platform:
    I7-2600K @ 4.9ghz
    Asus P8P67 Vanilla bios 1204
Air cooling Thermalright Venomous X 2 fans
HIS Radeon HD 6950 unlocked shaders
    Western Digital Velociraptor 300GB
    Corsair CMPSU-750TX
Cooler Master CM 690 II Advanced closed case
    Windows 7 x64 SP1 with AVX

    Stock XMP DDR3 1600 CL6 1.5v 6-8-6-24 2N per manufacturer's webpage:
    http://www.gskill.com/products.php?index=352

    6-8-6-24 1T DDR3 1600 @ 1.5v

    7-9-7-24 1T DDR3 1866 @ 1.5v

    9-10-9-28 1T DDR3 2133 @ 1.5v

    7-10-8-27 1T DDR3 2133 @ 1.65v

    Comments
    1) Great budget overclocking ram - it was a tough choice between this and the DDR3 1600 1.35v G.Skill Eco's reviewed here:
    http://www.xtremesystems.org/forums/...d.php?t=263242
    2) CL6 is snappy but higher bandwidth, higher gigaflops, and lower latency are achieved with DDR3 1866 and DDR3 2133.
    3) Bandwidth is greater and latency is lower @ DDR3 2133 with CL7 vs. CL9 but not appreciably more, with Vdimm jumping from 1.5v to 1.65v.
    4) Didn't bother to take a screenshot, but 7-10-8-27 1T DDR3 2133 @ 1.65v passed 25 runs of 8 thread linX @ 4.9ghz.

    Hope you liked my mini-review.
    Gotta luv this G.Skill ram

    EDIT
    Lowest 25 pass linX stable settings for DDR3 2133 @ 1.5v: 9-10-8-27 1T

Again, processing time and gigaflops not that different from 7-10-8-27 @ 1.65v. Same is true for read/write/copy/latency.
    I think I'll stick with this 9-10-8-27 1T DDR3 2133 @ 1.5v setting.

    EDIT
    7-10-8-27 1T DDR3 2133 passed linX 25 times fine at a lower 1.6v.

At best they would be the IC's from F3-17000CL7D-4GBXHD:
    http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...82E16820231451
    They run identical to F3-17000CL9D-4GBXMD:
    http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...82E16820231434
    And run better than F3-17000CL9D-4GBXL:
    http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...82E16820231449

    At DDR3 2133 W.E.I. jumps from 7.8 to 7.9.

I'm on the verge (and have been on the verge) of buying this kit, if they can obviously pull rated spec they will go far CL7 and CL8, but could you test 6-9-6 really quick? I'd just like to see max 6-9-6 1T through 32M or LinX

Too bad they don't have 3x2 kit of this

I'm buying this kit today for $65. Previous owner did 1780 6-8-6 1.5v so I'm hoping I can push them similar to all these other amazing G.Skill results.

    I think I tried 6-8-6-24 1T DDR3 1866 @ 1.65v and it failed linX pretty quickly.

    I can try 6-9-6 up to 1.7v DDR3 1866 when I get home tomorrow.

    nice clocks you have there

i have the same set and just tuning my system overall right now. going to work on cpu oc next and try for a 4.6 - 4.7 24/7 clock. currently running my dimms at 1.55v while i tweak my cpu before lowering voltages across the board.

    Nice sticks LagunaX

@BeeperdeBeep 2 : on AMD they react totally different then on Intel platform (haven't checked the SPD differences between these RipjawsX and the Flares eg)... I need 1.62Vdimm for 2000 CL7-9-7-28 1T stability with the new ripjawsX... CL6 they don't like unless sub 1800ish (can't pass HCI memtest) on AMD. On Intel no biggie

If you are intending to use these on an Intel based platform there's loads of tweaking option left The new RipjawsX seem to be a tiny bit better, but those that aren't afraid to pump a bit more volts will get similar results...

Interesting, 7-9-7 at 2000 isn't bad, was hoping 6-9-6 2000 would come at 1.65-1.7v or so, oh well.

I'm still in for a kit methinks.

See edit of original post near the bottom:
    7-10-8-27 1T DDR3 2133 passed linX 25 times fine at a lower 1.6v.

However, these do also at 1.6v but at 7-10-7-27 1T and are $10 cheaper currently:

Are these modules using the same chips as my Geils or better ones?

    Mine are rated for 2133 Mhz @ 9-9-9-28, and also do 1600 @ 6-8-6-18.

Actually, I dont think they can be, mine wont manage the same as these with just 1.5v DRAM.

I've been browsing for faster ram, but I cant see the point in getting these when the 2x4 Gb ripjaw X's are just a little more. I'm currently running 1900 mhz @ 7-8-7-20, but they wont go any higher which I'm sure is because 2000 Mhz with 6 modules in triple channel is near impossible.

I dont need 6 modules, but triple channel ram kits dont have as well specified ram as dual channel kits.

You just have a lower bin, Geil used PSC on most of their 2000 and 2133 models

Oh, these modules are pretty much the only ones that would be better than mine, but they cost a bit too much in the UK to be worth a ram upgrade + sell. I'll keep an eye out for a sale on them though.

2x4 Gb kits would be too much slower since they wouldnt work with such tight timings so theres no point going for them.

They are £70 per pair atm, if they drop a bit I'll get them and sell my Geils.

    Oh gotcha BeepBeep2.
Well, wasn't going to pay more for a higher bin yet, but really tempted my these the next time Newegg has that 15% off all memory sale:

The 2133s are cheaper, but are they any better than what I already have? I dont mind getting something better at £60 per pair and selling my Geils.

Well, wasn't going to pay more for a higher bin yet, but really tempted my these the next time Newegg has that 15% off all memory sale:

    Why not these?

Actually considering the CL7 kit is 7-10-7 and not 7-9-7, the CL8 kit might even be faster.
