need suggestions for 140mm fans for radiator

I have a radiator that takes 140mm fans (four of them to be exact)

I'm looking for fans that provide decent static pressure and low noise (low bearing noise really cus that's whats the hardest to control)

I will be using an automatic fan controller so no real worry there.

    Suggestions? 140mm fans please

    thanks!

It might sound wierd, but in martin's test best noise/performance from tested by him 140mm fans was shown by .. 120mm gentle typhoon with 120>140mm adapter

Well I can't use 120mm fans because its whats going to be holding my rad to the case.... and I don't think it will work with my shroud... and just wondering, how would mounting that work if the only holes on my rad are 140mm spaced?...

I use low speed (1000rpm) 140mm Yates loons on my sr1-420 rad. Quiet, cheap and push a decent amount of air.

well then.. Gentle Typhoon with adapter is seriously impressive...

One fan that stands out is the SanAce140L... I like it for comment on low resonation.. but i can't find purchase location/price?

those fans are stupidly hard to find and when you do theyre usually $40-50 a fan and you have to buy a bunch of them

id say do what others are suggesting and get an adapter and use a gentle typhoon

if only we could get 140mm gentle typhoons!

You may want to take a look at these, Scythe Kama FLEX 135 Series SA1325FDB12H. They will fit on 140mm rads without an adapter and are fairly quiet at 5 or 7 volts. I'm using them on my SR1-560 and they work great.

140mm fans were a bit dissappointing at medium to high speeds with the exception of the overly expensive san aces.

They say the human ear can only perceive loudness differences of 3dbA, and I measured at a very close proximity in an attempt to measure even finer details in my 140mm round and still couldn't measure differences much larger than a couple of dbA.

Have a listen to the videos and let your ears be the judge...

In my personal experience, using an GTX420 (high fin density) yate loon L speed fans are very quiet in push pull can produce pretty good airflow through the tight core. For a low fin density rad like the EK or SR1, a single set of L speeds should work just fine.

Still vouching for the Thermalright X-silents, been using them (and a bunch of GT's too) for over a year 24/7 and they still have the same smooth tone. The GT's have a slight bearing noise that varies upon speed, some speeds seem to have more resonance... My new build will have mostly TR X-Silents due to their noise characteristic. They still push decent air through low fpi rads.

    24/7 running quiet and nice

For silent range of native 140mm fans i'd consider also thermalright X-Silent 140. Good noise/performance, FDB, just that i find it's max 900 rpms being somewhat limiting for diverse kind of builds/levels of performance. Imho 1300mm TY-140's max 1300 rpm might make fan more universal, but it has that stupid 120mm fan mount holes, one of sizes >140mm and round frame. All of that not too good for use on 140mm LC rads.

hmmmm.... would any of the suggestions be an improvement over my current fans?

I'm starting to wonder if I should even bother with new fans considering they're all pretty similar

Yes for noise, probably no for flow as other suggestions have a lower rpm..

    24/7 running quiet and nice

XFreeRollerX: those hi-speed koolance ones most probably are very loud at max. I'd use them only if i had ways to turn them down, to at least some 800-900rpm, eg. some rheostat, or if they will have low enough rpms at some 7V or 5V easily gotten from molex.

yeah I have them on a fan controller and rarely turn them up anyway. but even at lowest possible setting with my controler (Ultra branded, 4 channels, not sure what model) its still kinda noisy
