Setting up a competition at my College

I have been doing some overclocking for about a year now, but I don't know of any others at my school. I am thinking about trying to host a competition on campus to see if there is anyone else here who likes to push things and try to build a community on campus. It would be a live event to get the nerds out of their caves here and get them together for a good time. I have connections for the cooling substances (DIce, LN2). I was wondering if anyone has any tips or anything for how to set this up (what benches?, should I do hardware classes (separate amd and intel, etc) ). And maybe what I could do to try to get a sponsor or two in the industry to maybe help out with prizes. Let me know what you think!

If you want it to be a competition, you could do what I'm doing.
Which is to give a brief talk on overclocking, just covering the basics, and then give each person a set amount of time with the setup (which you have provided) and let them try to get the highest OC/score in a benchmark whatever, then at the end announce a winner type thing.

You're far more likely to find air and maybe water overclockers. What college do you go to?

That's a cool idea. I have some older hardware i wouldn't mind cooking to get some interest, and to have some fun. Thanks!

Good point. I am at RIT, and we have a pretty large gaming/computing population. I think there might be a few other enthusiasts and OCers around, but I have yet to bump into any (in the 6 years I've been here). Maybe I could have one bench set up with DIce or LN2 (on one of my rigs with the Dragon F1 I have) for people to check out some more serious benching. I have a few friends who come over and are amazed watching me bench but they are afraid to do it on their own. It would probably run in the next month or so, so we wil still be seeing sub freezing temps outside, might make for some fun cold air benching.

Rochester? Eh. I'd suspect an extreme overclocker or two would be more towards RPI or UB. I know quite a few enthusiasts but very few using LN2, DICE, or Phase. As to be expected, the vast majority use air or entry-level water.

Hmm... Would you mind PMing me with some contact for them? It would be really sweet if we could put together something regional...
