I've got my own pair of 1600 C8, but they are D9 GTS. They will easily do 2000 C8 lol, but you shouldn't expect such results from sticks rated this low.

I would never put more than 1.85v into hyper, in any circumstance, I dont care if the ram is sitting at -110c,...

My GTS takes 2.4 pretty smoothly



Yes, which is why comparing this ram to D9JNL/GTS/GTR doesnt make any sense...

It doesn't "not make any sense", if you buy a kit of PSC rated at DDR1066 8-11-8 you can expect DDR1600 6-8-6 out of it, right? Maybe even 6-7-6 with some good chips. The point here is that stock speed is no indication of what a stick is capable of.

^Very true. G.Skill tend to be very conservative with their timings and frequencies, especially so with Ripjaws I've noticed.
