    6950 xfire huge cooling issues

I have 2 6950s under water on with EK blocks an a EK serial bridge.

I had a weird BSOD earlier so I decided to do some temp tests..

    Here is what I have

Does this seem right at all? GPU 1 never goes high and GPU 2 is eating all of the heat.. is this a crossfire thing or did I just do something wrong..

You need to re-seat the GPU2 block, or check the flow - something is definitely wrong with that one.

    Pictures?

I have a hard time believing those temp readouts as it is showing 0 degrees in the beginning and is jumping incredible high with little to no load.
    It's snowing!

I think you may need to move your inlet to the left port. The way it's setup now is bypassing flow to the top card. Give me a sec...

I swear I followed the instructions included with the block.. it had a up arrow etc.. that would prob explain a lot though.

Pretty sure I can see water running thru the second block also.. ill check again.

I think they may have sent you the "Parallel" bridge instead of serial?

Can you see from top to bottom where those two barbs are currently placed?

If yes, then you need to move the inlet or the outlet over to the other side.

Just looked again.. I am 99.9% sure that there is water flowing thru both blocks.

I have the far right one

the dual serial link (it says it on the right side of the black block)

so with that I should have it connected to the right ports.

This drawing on the far right still does not make sense to me at all.

But it's probably just the drawing, I assume it's actually blocked and not pass through.

I can't tell from the pictures you posted, at first I thought I saw two ports on top, but now that I look again, that's probably just the card plug.

Anyhow you can disregard, not sure what the temperature problem is. Was looking for the simple answer, but it may be something more complex. Maybe pull the block off and check thermal spread (I also assume you removed the film protectors..etc), those are easy enough to forget.

IIRC, some of those bridges got mislabeled by EK. The only thing I'm not certain on is which it was that got mis labeled. I think if you take the 2 fittings off, you can try to stick a wire through that hole there. If it stops, that indicates that you got the right part and the problem lays elsewhere.

If there was no water flow, I'd reckon the temperature would rise but more slowly.
The very fast rise of temperature right up to 105*C makes me think maybe the block doesn't sit quite right. Maybe you forgot to remove the protective plastic film or apply TIM?

just an fyi for anyone thats curious.. I did take the rig apart this weekend because it got to the point of as soon as I launched a game or anything it would BSOD..

I couldnt find any problems other than 2 of the thermal pads had moved and wasnt making contact.. Once I reseated everything temps are around 30-40c....

    Thanks for all the help

    Hi,

    The picture is actually wrong.
    There is no pass through.
However please check that you don't have the serial dual bridge that has pass through there.
We have called off all of the initial version like 6 months ago. You should not got that.
    Please check.
If you have the pass through there send me e-mail to info@ekwaterblocks.com and we'll arrange replacement for you.
