    Crysis 2 PC demo announced

    http://www.bit-tech.net/news/gaming/...mo-announced/1

Crytek and Electronic Arts have announced that upcoming sci-fi shooter, Crysis 2, will be getting a PC demo ahead of release.

The news comes via the official Crysis Twitter page, which revealed the demo would include multiplayer and that more details would be announced soon.

The move likely comes as part of a response to the backlash Electronic Arts received when it announced that an Xbox 360 Crysis 2 demo was planned, but said nothing of other platforms.

Including multiplayer is neat. Hope they won't introduce some really stupid limitations...

Thought they would have known better and provided us the pc community first, but I suppose they have listened to the community somewhat.

Yeah, that news has been out since forever. I dont think we'll have to worry about it too much though. If my memory serves me correctly, Nvidia was working hand and hand with the implementation of some pretty heavy tessellation to coincide with the GTX580 for the PC version. They were pretty clear in stating the PC version will not disapoint. I guess that remains to be seen.

I hope it's better than the 360 demo. It took me 20 minutes to get into a match then froze on the lobby screen.

I wonder if a benchmark of Crysis 2 be of any significance?

Jut let's hope it don't end like Hawx2, and finish by run at 18fps on AMD and 68fps on Nvidia gpu's lol ... But i believe Crytek is not enough stupid for do that and finish by get 86% of DX11 gpu's owner don't able to make run their games correctly ( with hawx2 it's not a problem as it run at pretty ridiculous high fps ( 186fps all maxed in my case )

Hopefully the multiplayer isn't cheat-ridden within minutes of launch like Crysis 1's was... I loved the nanosuit, but I couldn't find a server without running into a blatant cheater within minutes of joining.

Sadly this is a big problem with multiplayer fps thoses days... too easy to cheat, more and more 3th party softwares are available and sadly more and more peoples use them .. and developpers look to watch more illegal copy and piracy instead of securing the in-game cheat.

Most likely the PC equivilent of "Low"...

360 gamers will say otherwise, stating that PC gaming sucks, they can play on HDTV's (like we can't) and otherwise. I've heard it all first hand.

actually it will be something like medium:
    http://www.incrysis.com/forums/viewtopic.php?id=32347

and resolution will be 720p, so nope, no "HD gaming" for console fanboys...

at least the soundtrack seems to be on par with the last crysis:

Good thing EA doesn't include it in any version of the game, but most likely will charge extra for it...

    Old statistic.

ATi's market share of the DX-11 segment is 75% as of December 2010. And dropping quickly.

Heh... and 37% of those cards are the very powerful 5770, 5750, 5670 and 5650. Thankfully, the slowest DX11 card released by nVidia is the GT450, which only has a tiny 1.2% share of the DX11 sales. I doubt anyone will be playing Crysis 2 with any of those cards while utilizing DX11 features.

To keep 80% market share,AMD would have to sell 4 cards for every 1 nvidia sells, not quite an easy task, however the fact that they still have 75% share only means they are still outselling Nvidia.

Slowest DX11 card released by Nvidia is gt430.

lol, I remmeber reading anand's review on the gts430 as "nVidia giving up trying to contend in performance with AMD at this price range".

GTS450 was simply overpriced for it's performance, some 11 odd months late to compete vs the HD5770.

Platform gaming is killing PC gaming. I love how PC gaming is getting reduced to the lowest common denominator. ;(

Platform gaming is the easy-out for developers and publishers. They can make crap and it will sell well on consoles/handhelds because the market is underdeveloped/undereducated and not looking for a superior gaming experience... yet.

sounds like cryengine 3 is finally more optimized and less buggy than cryengine 2.

so it took the company the effort to try and make it compatible for console, big deal, we pc games will reap the best benefits, low settings on crysis wars looked nothing like this.

and if an xbox can run it on 720p, it means that we XS members should be able to run in at full tit

    funny thing about dx11
if you turn it on in WoW your framerate goes up, so i think its not just about more eyecandy, but more optimization too.

    As BF:BC2 proofs?

The game is a sniper/mortar fest if the map is only a tiny bit larger, removing prone did nothing to that. And complaining about camper/snip fest in game that has build in cloak?

With every game interation they cut more movement features.. and go back to quake 1 style movement...

    Crysis included:
    leaning
    prone

    Crysis Wars:
    cuts leaning

    Crysis 2:
    cuts prone

    future Crysis 3:
will cut crouching (cause it causes camping)

    future Crysis 4:
will cut walking mode (cause it slows down gamepaly)

Removes guns, since ranged weapons induce aimbotting.
