    Lightbulb Asrock P67 Extreme4 UEFI & Drivers thread [Extreme6, Pro3 & Z68 owners welcome]

As part of my own good practices I thoroughly research most hardware, and as I happen to of bought the Extreme4 and found nothing on the Asrock site is up to date for the Extreme4 I figured I would make this thread for other P67 Extreme4 owners that want the very latest (at date of posting) drivers and UEFI for their Extreme4.

Extreme4&6 UEFI Downloads & Driver Package:

    Download Link

    Driver Package Contents:

    Etron USB 3.0 v1.113
    Intel ME v 8.0.13.1502
    Intel PCH v9.3.0.1019
    Intel RST v11.2.0.1006
    Marvell 88SE9120 v1.2.0.1020
    Realtek HD Audio R2.70
    Realtek RTL8111E v7.058

Please remember any overclocking done is done at the users own peril and neither Asrock or me are responsible for any damages. With that said, Live long, and overclock!

Heh as a former user of your modded BIOS for P5Q-E I've expected again a modded BIOS for Extreme4.
    Maybe sometime...
Until then I like a lot this board. Just upgraded to 1.50 and beside my CM Inferno not moving in UEFI GUI everything else looks allright.
A small tip which I've learned today: do not Disable Spread Spectrum if you don't want that double POST at cold boot.

Modding the UEFI at present is impossible. Theres no tools for modders Any UEFI bugs you find you can try posting HERE about it, or if you drop me a PM I'll give you a email of a contact I have you can report any bugs to and he will forward the info to.. I want to say BIOS but its not anymore UEFI R&D. I won't be able to do any playing with my Extreme4 until my i5 2500k arrives, damn thing is taking forever. When it does arrive though you can expect a nice, thorough review of the Extreme4

Credit deffinately has to be given to Asrocks UEFI team, their working like the clappers right now churning out UEFI after UEFI for the Extreme4 and to a lesser extent, the Extreme6.

    Nope.

That arrow is my freezing mouse.
And I never saw that LED options with 1.10, 1.30, 1.43A and 1.50. What BIOS version is that?

My German is something like my Chinese so I'll drop you a PM.
I've send a ticket from ASRock site but they never reply to me.

Would you guys want these LED options in future BIOS releases?

If you do, pls post here so I can show the Asrock BIOS team this thread that users want better & personalised control of the LEDs. Had a hard time persuading them to do the options initially but L1.42A with the LED options really made my day, no more fumbling for the reset button in the dark on my test rig..

Yep, I'd make use of those options. I asked at pctrieber if the changes made in 1.43A are also in 1.5 as their not mentioned, AFAIK, no reply from asrock_user yet on that. If the options in 1.43A are not in 1.5, then its a no brainer, 1.5 sucks vs. 1.43A.

@ MacClipper; This is something I mention in my review of the Extreme4 (which isn't quite ready for publishing yet) the memory multipliers (and this goes for all P67 boards) are very unforgiving jumping 1333>1600>1800 etc, think you could ask asrock if there is any way to half that to 133MHz with new multiplier options? It would save another person bothering them

ED - oh, and theres word on my 2500k, arrives monday! w00t!

    Added UEFI 1.2C for download. Lets all rally to make sure Asrock get the following things into a official release UEFI;

    - V-core limit of 1.7v (1.43A has this, 1.5 doesn't)
    - BCLK interval of 0.5MHz
    - "Good Night" LED option
    - Debug port LED option
    - If possible, add memory multipliers that allow 133MHz jumps. This would allow users to maximise memory speeds easily. EG; 1600>1733>1866>1999>2132. See how that gives a nice sliding scale?

I think thats about everything. I dare say the board would be perfect with those changes. Well.. almost perfect. We would still want Ivy Bridge support when they come out as their supposed to be socket 1155 too

OK, seems quite a few guys are interested in BIOS L1.42A with all the LED options so here it is. Download and flash at your own risk, unlock password is my nick.

    Asrock L1.42A - Ziddu

I am keeping a download count on this file so pls direct other interested users to this original link so it will be a more accurate assessment of enduser wanting these options. Going to pass the feedback to Asrock to include them in all future BIOS updates if possible cos personally I love these options.

Nice, hope Asrock can see that users want better control of their hardware. Think with the L1.42A LED options included, this mobo is probably the only one in the market sporting such a feature.

PS: Perhaps, kindly add a note to the password needed to unlock the file too.

I'm not at home now but I'm pretty sure that I saw in 1.50 PLL override (or something like that) option (which was in 1.43A too).
Just wait until tommorow evening when I'll be at home to be sure.

I was looking to get this board and if the Dev team is looking at this thread and changing UEFI to better options and what not, I'm sold. I was a solid DFI fan, then EVGA and now with P67 I am looking for a good MB company ( nothing against MSI but Asus has burnt me a couple times (865P 875P) ).

I liked the ECS but seems ASrock gots there game more together. I'm going to watch this thread

    It's 1.8v actually on Exteme4 and Extreme6.
Also from what i see there is a need of better memory compatibility and overclocking, 2133 CL 9-9-9-24 it's not stable even with memory rated at this frecuency.

More memory compatibility? Asrock have taken on board what I said to them about memory compatibility very well, just look at the memory compatibility table. That's right up there with the best, even testing up to DDR3 2400 on a board that only "officially" supports DDR3 2133.

Hi guys, would it be possible to include owners of the Extreme6 and Professional versions in this thread?

The OP could be "Official AsRock P67 Owners thread" or something similar.

I have the P67 Professional and other than having to stare at John Wendel's mug everytime I boot into BIOS.....errr....UEFI I like this board a lot.
It boots fast, performs well....so far with my 2600K. I am just getting used to how to overclock it.

But, seriously, this thread will get a lot of play if we include all three AsRock P67 boards in it.

I also happen to have the Asrock Fat Pro in my test collection for now and also happen to have a personalised BIOS with LED toggle options. Just holler if anyone is interested and I will host it too.

If people want to talk about the Extreme6 or Pro3 go ahead. Just don't expect me to up a load of stuff to do with those boards as well in th first post, because I'm not tracking those as well
