Well it seems that you only got bios version for windws flash so you can't use Instant flash.
Bioses for Instant flash are noted so. You should flash first IB bios 2.10:
    http://www.asrock.com/mb/Intel/P67%2...wnload&os=BIOS

I have a P67 PRO3 with a 3570k and i have to say that IB bios work very good, memory works better with him, lower latency and with an IB cpu memory works at 2200- with multiplier on bios.32M CL8 5GHZ.jpg

    Hello all!

    I have a problem. I've read that I can't update my BIOS (I got the asrock p67 extreme4 b2 apparently).
When I try to do it, I get this message:

    6uWDM.png

Is there anything I can do to update it?

    I have an i5 2500k cpu

Maybe this one will work? It's a beta one, but I don't think it's a problem?

I have always been leery of using Windows to update the BIOS but looking at the BIOS download section that's my only choice.
I haven't booted into my UEFI to know for sure but some of the screenshots and the manual show an Instant Flash option.

Does this option exist and if it does where do I find the BIOS file to use it?

Any recommendations on which version to use?
I feel your pain, I'm also running P67 Extreme4 Gen3 with an older BIOS, 1.12 iirc. I need to upgrade to 2.10 or 2.20 tomorrow as I'm upgrading from a G530 to E3-1230 V2. Problem is, I like to run linux! Oh ASRock you backstabbing SoB's, where o where is my Instant Flash??? Minor annoyances like having to install Windows is why I'm gonna choose another board manufacturer in the future if you don't give me my ROM options back.

For those interested, I did find a link to 2.10 for P67 Extreme4 Gen3 in ROM (Instant Flash) format.

Hi. I apologize for the newbie question but... how do you flash via pure dos?

I too upgraded to the 3.10 bios... and it was causing my machine to first go into a form of Hibernation which would take 2 minutes to come out of. Then, once the machine "woke up" 60 seconds later it would click off and then back on. Happened every time after coming out of hibernation. I did not have hibernation turned on. In fact, it was not even an option.

Anyhow, i downgraded my bios back to v2.10 and now I too experience the 2 errors upon turning on the machine "error, system cannot get a fw version" and then "heci pointer mismatch".

The machine is now stable again. 1 week and no crashes, no power clicking off.

I'm now looking to fix the errors.

Seems there is a fix, per the instructions above, only, i can't figure out how to do a PURE DOS bios flash. I've done instant flash upon turning on the machine as well as flashing under windows, but that has not resolved the issue. I did also flash with the 2.10H (which is a beta) and that didn't do it.

So i'm guessing i need to do this under pure DOS but again, i don't know how to do that.

I do have the "dos" version of the flash for 2.10.

I also have the "dos" version of the flash for v1.90, however, both v1.90 and 2.10 are executables... and i can't seem to get them to extract. Windows 7 is running them as if i'm trying to install and i get an error that it's not compatible.

I've been back to the AsROCK software support site for my board (Extreme4 P67) however... seems they have removed all older versions of the BIOS as the only one that is available is the newest 3.10.

Again, i have the older versions... just not sure how to do it, other than using Instant Flash.

Any advise would be welcome and again, sorry for the newbie question.

You shouldn't downgrade UEFI from 3.10 to earlier version. You didn't read instruction on asrock website. Now yours bios chip is ed up.

    Congratulations :banghead:

Use the latest UEFI version. For some bizarre unknown reason only windows versions of the UEFI updates are available on the asrock site. If you want to update from pure DOS (like everybody should) you can try HERE

I can't see the message you get for whatever reason, but you should be able to update your UEFI without issue. You can download the latest UEFI from HERE (Windows) or HERE (DOS)

    Really people.. you should know this stuff. Especially as I've told people so many times how to do it. So, one last time;

How to update the UEFI from pure DOS:

    1. Make a bootable USB pen drive.
You can do this any number of ways, but probably the easiest way is to get a Win98 boot disk or download the Win98 boot disk files (google it) and download the HP USB boot utility.

    2. Place the DOS .exe file you have on the USB pen drive, rename the file so its no longer than 8 letters in length (not including file extension) eg; P67E6310.exe
    3. Restart the system, changing your boot devices in the UEFI so your USB pen drive is ahead of your HDD in the boot order, save changes and exit
    4. Your USB pen drive will now be booted from. At the DOS prompt simply type (using the example I used above) P67E6310.exe, and press enter.

well im back and that usually means things arent right...so i accidentally lost all my setting in the bios (1.7) and ive set everything up and get to desktop ok and run all programs but when i start bf3 it gets to the splash screen for the map and when it loads the game my pc reboots. any ideas? i mean i must not have soemthing right in the settings..didnt do it before..does it now. also i see L3.19 is an option for the bios update...is anyone using this and is it buggy? does it allow for oc'ing? im not a fan of updating just because theres a new one out..but im obviously having some sort of an issue now. thanks in advance

I am using L3.19 for my P67 Extreme4 and it works just fine. Flashed it with Instant Flash under UEFI.

    Maybe try another pendrive.

hello, sorry for my bad English
I have a asrock fatal1ty p67 professional with BIOS 3.19, and I bought on ebay a chip with BIOS 1.70, but does not work on my motherboard. Is it a problem of the chip?
    This is the chip: http://cgi.ebay.es/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?...m=260869792417

and this is the result with the BIOS chip from ebay with version 1.70:

    What will be the problem?

    thanks

with the original BIOS chip 3.10 I have problems with "Internal PLL Overvoltage" set, and with the BIOS 1.70 works fine, but the downgrade to 1.70 now is not possible. Wherefore I bought the 1.70 BIOS chip, but does not work. and I'm not sure if it's a problem of chip.

Yes, I did a clear cmos.

    thanks

I am using latest beta L3.19 and it is very stable.
To be honest I have never had any problems with different UEFI versions in terms of OC potential or stability.
