Have you seen much difference in performance between using memory below the CPU's IMC speed, at or above it? It's heavily rumoured that it needs 1866 (preferably above) to get anywhere near top performance, unlike SB / Deneb / Thuban where it makes little difference.

Must be frustrating to hear that the official suite of software they want you to use for the tests comes out after they initially wanted you to give back the CPU

    Lo mate,

no biggie to boot with 2600NB, 2800 boots only with extremer voltages (board even sets 1.45 on AUTO :p) While for 2600 I don't need to adjust voltages at all. 3000 and higher is no post... Thomas has similar issues.

And Turbo doesn't seem to work with 9905

    I have 1.58.6 CPU-Z, I heard .7 version is released soon

Overal 9905 is faster in almost every app, New ram dividers work top notch, love that 2400mhz :p

Question : Why do some overclockers switch into d*ckmode when money is involved

correction Prefetch, or is it trace cache. all i know after reading is it's 8Kbyes for the module and 4Kbytes to each core. -__-

lost here too. I hope on 12th there will be information if we have a bug really, some missing bios/driver stuff or all is like it should, but can be more optimzed...

I'm not disappointed if performance is near 2600k like AMD slides seem to indicate, at least for the benches shown there, and power consumption is a lot lower then with thuban.

but: if bd is really bandwidth-hungry with respect to ram, what does this tell us about prefetch/cache?

I'm so close to buying ud5 or sabertooth, but not for a bugged processor. Though dammit, 5ghz and 2133 ram i would like it, but not at any cost Maybe having to wait for BD2...

According to Techpowerup an Ukrainian online store named Fixer has listed FX 8120.

they changed the tubing to be more flexible, finally. i would prefer if they made the pump variable speed, but that might just add to unneeded costs

now just bundle this with a CHV and custom ram optimized for BD, and we'd be playing with fire.

Fan speed is variable via soft, no idea why changing pump speed would be required. Too much noise ? Never tested Antecs solution...

Well, it's actually made by Asetek anyway, who make most of the sealed liquid cooling solutions (along with CoolIT), the Kuhler 920 seems to outperform most of the air cooling solutions for the same money, so it should be a good solution for a decent OC on these chips!

Might be down to the fact the chip is tuned for raw GHz and the thermals are the limiting factor, thus cooling for everyone.

A920 has my friend, its good cooling, better than H70. Think, performance is simillary with H80 cooler (a bit better than the best Air cooler)
